Email Affiliate & Tracking Pixel

Posted in

Hi there, I was hoping you could help?

The affiliate enterprise plugin nearly does everything we need it to do except when a contact form 7 submission is made I need it show the affiliate on the email that we receive so we know where it comes from (this won’t show user end only when we receive a new lead)

2) I realise the updated version of the plugin supports pixels but only when the affiliate creates their own credentials – is there anyway that we can manually add an affiliate ID to a client so we can track a pixel they provide us with.

Does this make sense?

Thanks

James

    Hi Antonio.

Basically when someone submits on the form I want the affiliate user to be tracked and then in the email I receive I want to see who it was from ( the front end form doesn’t show the affiliate in a field it is just fracked from the visitor they send to the site)

Also if I have a few affiliates all of who want unique pixels I need to be able to add them to their own area and the tracking to show for that pixel

    Does this make sense

      Hi James,

      – Relating to get the affiliate username in the contact form 7, with this code, you can use the [affiliate-username] token in the email notification.
      – Relating to the pixel tracking, you need to add this pixel tracking code in their affiliate area, so they can use this custom code in their emails, blogs, … You only need to add this shortcode in the affiliate-area page: [affiliates_pixel]
Remember that [affiliates_pixel] is only available in Affiliates Enterprise version.
      Kind Regards,
      Antonio B.

    Hi Antonio.

I have tried what you said added the code to the functions file and done a test it just shows as [affiliate_username] in the email I receive.

Also there is no way I can manually change the Pixel URL from the client side or from the admin side…. so I’m still stuck with both of these problems….

      Hi James,
sorry, I thought you wanted to add in the affiliate area. If you want to add this in your emails, you can use:
      <img src="http://www.example.com/affiliates.png?affiliates=[affiliate-id]" alt="" width="1" height="1" />
Really I have not test this code. I hope this can help you.
      Kind Regards,
      Antonio B.

Hi Antonio what if they want to use their own code how can an administrator change the code for the client?

And still a bit confused about editing the code for the affiliate ID in the email.

Can I pay you to help me with this?

    Thanks

    James

    Hi Antonio

thanks so much for the reply.

The first bit makes sense but I can’t work out how to manually change the pixel code if I dont have the affiliates username and password to login?

    can you help?

    thanks

      Hi James,
if you use [affiliates_pixel] in your affiliate-area page, automatically, the affiliate id is added, and every affiliate will have their own code.
      Kind Regards,

    Hi James,
1.- you can use this code as reference adding it in your functions.php theme file. This code add the extra tokens [affiliate-id] and [affiliate-username] in the Contact Form 7 emails.
2.- In Affiliates->Manage Affiliates you can create an affiliate manually (if you set an username, then the affiliate is related to this user). If you need to add the pixel tracking manually, in the documentation page you can see the html code generated, so you can customize it.
    Kind Regards,
    Antonio B.
