Incorrect payout – Unclear answer [solved]

Posted in

On 10/25, I posted:

our payout for a $32 product is $5, which is a .15625 multiple.
In Settings I chose Referral Rate and entered .15625. When I save, it reverts to .15, which shows less than $5 commission for our affiliates.
I also went to the product page and entered .15625. When I save, it also reverts to .15.
Please, how do we pay a $5 commission on a $32 product?

You responded:

There’s an alternative which allows amounts instead of rates available https://github.com/eggemplo/Affiliates_Custom_Method-Products_amount

looking at the code, https://github.com/eggemplo/Affiliates_Custom_Method-Products_amount/blob/master/affiliates-products-amount.php, I see

$product_rate ) == 0 )

should that be changed to $product_rate ) == 5) ?

and I don’t see where to edit product id:

if ( $product->exists() ) {
$product_id = $product->id;

here?

Also, I did a remote file search for affiliates-products-amount.php. Nothing.

Am I supposed to create this file? If so, what folder???

I got it that you are programmers and all of these questions “should be obvious”, however, there is NO WAY the average wordpress user is going to figure this out. And, isn’t one of the primary reasons we use wordpress is that it is easy?

    Also, what you may not have considered is that when you tell an affiliate $5.00 and the payout is $4.80, they wonder if the company is trying to cheat them out of their commissions. And, if we set the payout at .16 and they see $5.12 commission, they wonder if there is a bug in the program and it undermines their confidence in us, the company and their confidence in the Affiliates Pro plugin.

    Either way is bad business and your suggestions for a fix are totally lacking!

      The github plugin is simply a custom solution to solve some use cases. If you need to create your own solution, you can use the Affiliates API and examples.

    Antonio,

    Would you please send me a telephone number or Skype id?

    You are omitting a lot of information.

    Thank you,
    David

    Hi,
    when you install the github custom method and select it in Affiliates->Settings, then the value used in your product edit page is used as fixed amount instead of as a rate. In your case, you need to set in product 5.
    cheers
