Integration of Affiliates Pro, Woo Commerce, s2Members & Paypal

Posted in

I am running Affiliates 2.10.0, it seems to have installed okay, I also installed “Affiliates WooCommerce Integration” & Affiliates Products. I emailed my affiliate link to an email I created for testing links & such, it worked great, going through the signup process, until I got to the end of the PayPal transaction. An error came up as follows:

ERROR: Unable to verify $_POST vars.
Please contact Support for assistance.

This is most likely related to an invalid configuration of s2Member, or a problem with server compatibility. If you are the site owner, and you’re absolutely SURE that your configuration is valid, you may want to run some tests on your server, just to be sure $_POST variables are populated, and that your server is able to connect/communicate with your Payment Gateway over an HTTPS connection.

s2Member uses the WP_Http class for remote connections; which will try to use cURL first, and then fall back on the FOPEN method when cURL is not available. On a Windows server, you may have to disable your cURL extension; and instead, set allow_url_fopen = yes in your php.ini file. The cURL extension (usually) does NOT support SSL connections on a Windows server.

Please see this thread for details regarding the ideal server configuration for s2Member.

Information from thread above:
This is the default on most servers ( allow_url_fopen = On ).
s2Member will try to use cURL first. If cURL is not available, s2Member will try to use the FOPEN method, in which case the allow_url_fopen = On setting will be required.

If you’re running WordPress on a Windows server:
You’ll want to disable the cURL extension because Windows servers usually do not play nice with cURL over the HTTPS protocol. So instead, you can just disable the cURL extension. This way s2Member will use the FOPEN method; in which case you will need to have this in your php.ini file:
;extension=php_curl.dll
extension=php_openssl.dll
allow_url_fopen = On

HI I’M BACK:
Mind you, there was NEVER an issue at the signup phase before, so I’m thinking the configuration between WooCommerce & Affiliates Pro is somehow holding things up, perhaps I missed a step, not sure but I NEED your HELP PLEASE!!!

Like where do I find this php.ini file? to place these codes they speak of into???

ALSO, even though these errors came up, I still received the emails from paypal saying I had set up a recurring payment, yet when I checked the back office of my site, there were NO signs of a new member signing up.

So somethings not quit right & I am praying you can go in & do some configuring for us, we will gladly pay you for your time, we are sure you know WAY more about this & can resolve it MUCH faster, so we can go forward knowing all is working perfectly for our members & affiliates.

Please get back with us ASAP, this of course is high priority for us as always in these cases, as soon as we hear from you I will forward our admin info.

I’m not sure where to find your response, so if you could please use this email I would GREATLY appreciate it, I have the schedule of 3 people right now.

Thanks

    Thanks, I was dealing with a few issues there, it seems I have figured out most of the issues. I went with Affiliates Enterprise so I could assign a level rate, How do I configure this program to only pay commissions for NEW PAYING MEMBERS, not just referrals who have used the FREE REGISTRATION.

    Can I simply assign 0.00 for level 1, then our 20% in level 2, then back to 0.00 for the rest of the levels???

    I am using the s2Members, with Word Press, Please tell me there is a way to simply track all NEW PAYING SIGN-UPS/MEMBERS & pay my affiliates for those folks.

    You have a blessed day & know I appreciate all the help you give.

      Hi Michael,
      you can set the level commission in Affiliates->Tiers.
      right now there isn’t s2member integration.
      I suggest if you can migrate to our Groups plugin.
      Regards,
      Antonio B.

    Hi Michael,
    it doesn’t seem a problem with Affiliates. You can try to disable the Affiliates plugin and its integrations and try again.
    Relating to the php.ini file is a file in your server, normally if you are in a shared hosting you can access to this file.
