Q: if valid username is given, and no email is provide, the email address will be used as username

Posted in

On the edit an affiliate screen (I’m manually adding an affiliate), there is a message below the email field that states:

“If a valid Username is specified and no email is given, the user’s email address will be used automatically.”

THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE

I think it was during this that I discovered that a person can be an affiliate without being a user in the WP system.

then can be an affiliate, and earn commissions, but cannot log in to see their stats.

a WP user, that becomes an affiliate, can log in to see stats, update info and add a paypal email address (using your specific shortcode that does that).

I may be wrong, but I dont think this is clear anywhere. I just sort of figured it out.

      Hi,
Exactly, you can be an affiliate without being a WP user. We are restructuring the documentation, we will consider it, thanks for the note.
      cheers

    Hi,
This means that if you enter a valid username and not enter an email, then user’s email is used as affiliate’s email.
    cheers
