Referring Url

Hi Guys

I have recently purchased Affiliate Enterprise

My account email address is: peterheather1965@live.co.uk

Everything is working fine so far

What I need is for the Stats to show the Referring URL of the webpage that the referral has come from.

Right now I can’t see where the stats logs that and I can not find any information on this when I search the support topics

I presume this can be achieved via a Shortcode amendment?

If so can you please provide me with the shortcode I need.

Thank you

Kindest regards

Peter

    You are welcome Peter.

For your case, please have a look also at Affiliate tiers. By using tiers, this affiliate can be the original referrer and the group of 100 affiliates can be in Depth 1. That way even if the group uses the same site to promote their affiliate links, each one will be unique because each one of the “sub-affiliates” will have their own id.

Please have a look at this too and let me know if you need further info.

    Kind regards,
    George

    Thanks George

If you can at some point try and request this feature to be added it would be of a great help to me, I have a primary affiliate who has his own bespoke affiliate program. He has 100’s of his own affiliates, each one promoting a page of his own that is identical bar the url. If I had been able to record the referring url all commission payments could have been made to him leaving him to then pay his affiliates going off the referring url information.

I know there are ways around it but this would of taken care of the matter easily.

Please let me know if and when this feature is added.

    Thanks for your support George

    Kindest regards

    Peter

    Hi Peter,

Sorry but the backlinks to your site and therefore which site resulted in a referral are not recorded by the plugin.
There are several tools online to find out which sites link to your site and afterwards work out where did the recorded referral come from.
I will propose this feature and see if it could be added in a future/updated version of Affiliates plugin.

    Kind regards,
    George

    Hi George

I did 2 test purchases and expanded the data but the stats still would not show what url I had placed the affiliate banner on.

I placed my affiliate banner on this website url http://www.cyclistsupportsolutions.com/ the banner then linked through to http://www.goodbyeexcess.com, a purchase was then made on one of the product pages.

The stats show that a sale was made and on what page of http://www.goodbyeexcess.com because the banner had my affiliate code in the sale was accredited to me.

What it does not tell me is that the referring url was http://www.cyclistsupportsolutions.com/ please see screen shot.

Is there any way that I can have the stats log this so that I know what website made the referral?

This is quite important for me so can you advise on how this can be achieved?

    Thanks for your support

    Kindest regards

    Peter

    Hi Peter,

You can find details on referrals in your Dashboard under Affiliates > Referrals.
Each record has a link to the post where the referral was recorded, ie if it involves a sale, a link to the order. Also, if you choose the filter to Expand data you can see the details in the same report.

    Kind regards,
    George
