What is the actual 1st level of the affiliate tiers?

Hi

I’m setting up my affiliate system, and so far, so good. I have these questions on how to work with your plugin:

1. Is the default site wide normal referral affiliate commission configured here, at Settings > Commissions?
And is this in effect the actual first level? After this normal referral rate level, do the tiers come into effect?
So is the 1st tier is actually the second level after the default normal referral rate affiliate commission?
I’m trying to understand what is the first level.

2. With Woocommerce you can override the default commission for a specific product. But currently you can’t over-ride (or turn off) the tiered commissions that come after this default commission on a per product basis, is that correct?

3. Are the affiliates profiles ever synced with that of WordPress users (like what happens with Buddypress)?

4. Can there be a single sign in for affiliates and Buddypress WordPress users? Or will they both always be separate, and both always require separate sign ins? (which is not so convenient)

5. Is it correct to say that your (1) Affiliates Enterprise users are separate and not synced with the default (2) WordPress users (which ARE synced with the (2a) Buddypress and (2b) BBpress users) and those are also synced with (2c) Woocommerce order purchasing users but NOT synced with (4) Paid Membership Pro member users? So for my site, there are in effect 3 separate types user accounts/lists within the system to manage, all needing their own login?

6. I ask because I want to keep the users systems streamlined, so would you say it is best that they become a buddypress user first? or a Woocommerce purchasing user first? or a Paid Membership Pro member? or does it not matter?
I don’t want to have multiple duplicate user accounts within the system.

7. I have discovered that I can use the Paid Membership Pro membership plugin to be integrated with Woocommerce for the payment processing on recurring memberships, which means that your affiliate system will work with Paid Membership Pro through Woocommerce. But, because I’m using Woocommerce for the membership payments, including on recurring subscriptions (through Paid Membership Pro into Woocommerce), will those recurring subscriptions be included in affiliate commissions when used like this?

Thank you for this amazing plugin system!
Barnaby

      Hi,
Usually when you want to customize your theme, the best solution is create a child theme. This post can help you to create your own child theme.

3 Q: Could you update the system to allow for commissions to have 3 decimal points, instead of 2?
A: Regarding commissions decimal points, please have a look at affiliates_referral_amount_decimals and affiliates_earnings_decimals filters.

“Please have a look at affiliates_referral_amount_decimals and affiliates_earnings_decimals filters.”

YES I have already looked at those pages, that is why I’m asking this question:

PLEASE CONFIRM: It seems like the only way to make it 3 decimals is to update the functions.php file and a database column ‘amount’ in the ‘wp_aff_referrals’ table.
    Is that right?
So what happens when you make an update to the plugin?
Are all those changes are lost?

      Hi,
That’s true, you can use the filters in your functions.php child theme file, so when you update, this changes will not be lost.
Related to the database change, this’s needed and this can be lost with the plugin updates, but usually this table is not changed. Before to update the plugin, I recommend reading the changelog.
      Kind Regards,

2.- Per products you can only set the level_0 rates. Remember that from Affiliates->Tiers you can set the levels rate that can be relative.

    >>What do you mean by the “Tiers you can set the levels rate that can be relative”?
    >>If I have product A that $1000, with a 20% commission level_0 and I don’t want the extra 2 levels tiers to work on product A, but I want the 2 extra tiers to work on all the other products, how do I do this?

Q: Could you update the system to allow for commissions to have 3 decimal points, instead of 2?
A: Regarding commissions decimal points, please have a look at affiliates_referral_amount_decimals and affiliates_earnings_decimals filters.

    >>It seems like the only way to make it 3 decimals is to update the functions.php file and a database column ‘amount’ in the ‘wp_aff_referrals’ table. Is that right? But what about when you make an update to the plugin?
    >>Then all those changes are lost, right?
    >>Can you add this function into the plugin, so that decimals can just be altered by the admin?

      Hi,
2.- You can not set tiers values per products. The ‘relatives values’ are for example: Assuming 30% for normal referrals and 20% for Level 1, for an order of 100$, affiliate A gets a 30$ referral, affiliate B gets 6$ (20% of 30$). If you don’t enable the ‘relatives values’ then affiliate A gets 30$ and affiliate B gets 20$ (20% of 100$)
3.- Please have a look at affiliates_referral_amount_decimals and affiliates_earnings_decimals filters.
      Kind Regards,
      Antonio B.

If you are using Buddypress, with the Affiliates Buddypress integration your users have the affiliate-area available in their profile.

    Hi Barnaby,
    1.- Answered in this topic.
2.- Per products you can only set the level_0 rates. Remember that from Affiliates->Tiers you can set the levels rate that can be relative.
3.- Some affiliate’s data is related with the wordpress user.
4.- When a new affiliate is registered from the affiliate-area page, then he is associated with a new WordPress user. If you want that automatically all new users are affiliates, you can use the Affiliates Users plugin.
5, 6.- Affiliates are sync with WordPress users if the affiliate is registered from the affiliate-area or registered from the dashboard (Affiliates->Manage Affiliates), if the username is indicated.
7.- If you are using the Woocommerce Subscriptions, from Affiliates->Woocommerce Integration you can ‘Enable recurring referrals’ and set a timeout.
    Kind Regards,
    Antonio B.
