Hi, I want to ask you one question. In my e-shop (WP-WooCommerce) I have installed these plugins: affiliates WooCommerce integration, affiliates pro, affiliates extra fields and affiliates export. My problem is that I can´t see the “banner section” in menu. What is wrong? I am not IT and the guy who did the e-shop for me is currently out :-/

    • kento November 4, 2014 at 8:52 pm #

      Hi Mateo,

You probably have an older version installed. Please update your version or if you need further help post a topic in the Forums.

      Cheers

Porqué no pueden ver los afiliados sus referncias? hay que configurar algo más?

Se puede colocar una comisión al afiliado cuando una de sus referencias renueva una membresia?

    Gracias por vuestra ayuda.

    Saludos

    • antonio November 2, 2014 at 9:12 am #

      Sorry, in English.
You can generate the affiliate-area page (when the affiliates can see their commissions) in Affiliates->Options.

how do i get this to activate ?how do i obtain a key for this ? since i am a paying member this is showing on my site :Affiliates WooCommerce Integration plugin requires an appropriate Affiliates plugin to be activated: Affiliates Pro or Affiliates Enterprise. Please enter a valid service key to enable automatic updates with the Itthinx Updates plugin.

    • antonio November 1, 2014 at 8:46 am #

      Hi,
      those are two different messages:
      – “WooCommerce Integration plugin requires an appropriate …” Probably you have activated Affiliates light version, please use Pro or Enterprise version.
      – “Please enter a valid service key to enable automatic …” this plugin updates itthinx’s plugins automatically. You can get the key in the service key page. In your dashboard Plugins->itthinx updates you can set the value.
      cheers

This plugin pay the users automatically? And pay it ONLY for the paid orders?? Thanks a lot.

      Hi,
with the pro version, commission status is updated according to order status, but the plugin doesn’t process payments.

Hi, I am developing an ecommerce application, WordPress and WooCommerce based. My development site url and production site url have different domains.
How should I handle the single site licences i have already purchased? Is the license valid for both sites?
Should I follow any particular procedure?

    development site: eshirt.mentine.net
    production site: http://www.eshirt.it

    Thanks in advance.

    • kento October 30, 2014 at 8:43 pm #

Hi Andrea, thanks for asking. There’s no special requirement to have it on your development and production site, it’s fine if you’re using it that way.

hi i have just downloaded the affiliates by username plug in, it has downloaded and been uploaded etc, i have activated the plug in but i cant seem to work out how to change the links, when i log into affiliate area it is still showing as the affiliate number not the username

    Hello Kento,

Question, Thinking on using the affiliate pro plugin. Using Optimizepress 2.0 and optimize member. Do I use the normal affiliatepro or the one with s2member integration (sice optimizepress uses the s2member framework)?

    Thamx

    • kento October 26, 2014 at 9:13 pm #

      Hi Roy,

Thanks for considering use of the plugin. Unfortunately this won’t work with OptimizePress. I would recommend looking at an alternative based on WooCommerce + WooCommerce Subscriptions which is fully supported (also with commissions for recurring payments).

      Cheers

My purposes for Affiliates Pro is a lead generation system. I have successfully setup everything and it seems to be working. I have tried to look through all the documentation, videos, and posts here to find the answer to some my questions. I apologize if these have already been asked and answered.

    – I use the registration of wordpress. I use Contact Form 7 to ask for additional information.
    – Certain registered users are manually given group rights so they have the option to sign up as an affiliate. I have the registration page for affiliates available after they have logged in and group rights have been set so they can see that page.
    – Users of the site are encouraged to register as guests so they can receive additional information as a guest user. We would like the affiliates to be able to see which users have registered as a guest and their contact information.

    I’m using the following plugins:
    Affiliates Pro
    Affiliates by Username
    Affiliates Contact Form 7 Integration
    Contact Form 7
    Contact Form DB
    Groups

    Here are my questions:

    1) When a user follows a URL that has an affiliate link, what is the event that triggers a notification to be sent to the affiliate? Registration or Contact Form 7
    2) Is there a way that a registered affiliate can see the contact information for any user that has followed their affiliate link and has registered with the site as a guest?

    • kento October 22, 2014 at 8:53 pm #

      Hi,

On #1 : the notification is sent when a referral is recorded, visiting a link is not triggering a notification.

#2 : Yes, tokens can be used in the notification message, see the Help on Affiliates > Contact Form 7 and Affiliates > Notifications for details.

      • Doug December 11, 2014 at 8:56 pm #

I’ve switched to Gravity Forms, because I couldn’t get Contact Form 7 to work. I was able to pass the tokens to the notification with Contact Form 7.

How do I pass a token from Gravity Forms to the notification email? Where do I find the token from Gravity Forms that I can place in the notification email?

  9. Sam October 21, 2014 at 9:36 am #

    Hi,
I am setting up Affiliate pro on my woocommerce online shop. All seems working, just one small detail. At the moment, new affiliate gets a auto confirmation email from wordpress@lokolo.eu Where can I change this, wordpress@lokolo.eu, email to affiliate@lokolo.eu?

    Thank for you help.

    Sam

    • kento October 21, 2014 at 9:56 am #

Hey Sam, you can change that under Settings > General and also see Affiliates > Options.

      • sam October 21, 2014 at 10:31 am #

        Hi Kento,

Thanks for the quick reply. I can’t find where to change my email address in Affiliates>Options. In Setting>General, the email address there is a gmail address not wordpress@lokolo.eu. In fact, I don’t have wordpress@lokolo.eu email address in our email system altogether. I don’t know where it comes from. What can I do next? Please help.

        • kento October 21, 2014 at 10:40 am #

Hi Sam, sorry I pointed you to the wrong section. It would be Affiliates > Notifications. Have you tried http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/ ?

          • sam October 21, 2014 at 11:31 am #

            Hi Kento,
I put affiliate@lokolo.eu down for Administrator Email Address in Affiliate>Notifications and it didn’t work. email still sent from wordpress@lokolo.eu

I tried the plugin you mentioned, it works but now all automatic email from sent out from my site is from affiliate@lokolo.eu

            Am I doing something wrong?

            • kento October 22, 2014 at 7:41 pm #

Hi, you need to set the email address and SMTP settings under Settings > Email – these will then be used instead. Also make sure to review the docs of that plugin to understand it better.

  10. Tom October 11, 2014 at 6:31 pm #

Do you think this would be useful to add to our Website design website? We are starting to do more e-commerce websites. Do you offer any affiliate compensation for the plug-in or reseller programs.

    thanks, Tom Wingard at onqsites.com

The prices for the Pro and Enterprise – are they monthly, annual or one time only fees?
Also, if I try the free version first, it seems I’m missing out on the Paypal Mass Payment – does this mean I check my Referrals every month and then pay commissions manually through Paypal?

    • kento September 29, 2014 at 11:52 am #

      Hi Lisa,

Regarding your first question, please see under Updates & Support on the Terms & Conditions.

The payments are made through any process of your choice, that includes PayPal with the generated mass payments file under Pro if you have access to these. Please note that neither version will make the payments automatically for you, you have to ‘deliberately’ pay your affiliates either manually or through a bulk payment facility provided by your payment processor.

  12. Mark September 24, 2014 at 6:47 am #

Kento, I changed the permissions in “affiliate optionsor settings” to only subscribers/shop manager (thinking I was giving affiliates too much access to back end) Anyways, now I locked myself out of managing affiliate areas.

Should I delete plugin and download new or will I delete all affiliate info?

    • kento September 26, 2014 at 9:23 am #

      Hi Mark,

Please log in with a user account that has the role of Administrator, the system will assure a minimum set of permissions required so that at least Administrators have access.

You don’t need to delete or reinstall it.

Using Woo Commerce and Buddy Press. We want to set up a simple 15% discount and 15% commission for each Buddy Press user via coupon code. Is there a way to do that through Affiliates-Pro/Light of would that require using the Affiliates Users plugin?

    • antonio September 11, 2014 at 8:40 am #

      Hi,
Affiliates Coupons allows to create coupons for affiliates automatically and in bulk.
If you need that new users are automatically affiliates then Affiliates Users can help you.

    6. I want to be able to adjust their commission rate
    7. I want to be able to link a referral with a customer or reseller.
    8. I want multi-tiered commissions

I am confused on how to do this and will pay to have it done

    • antonio September 7, 2014 at 10:04 pm #

      Hi,
1.- Please have a look to Affiliates Users plugin.
2.- You can set a default rate in Affiliates->Woocommerce Integration, and if you need to set different commission by product, you can do it with the pro version.
3, 4.- You can create an affiliate profile page.
5, 6.- You can edit the affiliate profile and add them a custom rate.
7.- In the dashboard, Affiliates->Referrals, you can see the referrals and their affiliates (use the filter to show more data).
8.- With the Affiliates Enterprise version you have this feature.
      cheers

  17. Tareq September 4, 2014 at 11:42 pm #

I have a couple of questions:
1- I want to set a fixed referral payment of $5 dollars, that is when a customer buys a product through and affiliate, the affiliate gets $5. If however the customer buys 2 at once the affiliate would get $10. Does that work by setting the referral amount to 5.0? Since the default currency for my website is dollars would that 5.0 translate into $5 in all cases??
2- I can’t find any explanation on how to perform the paypal mass payment or how to generate the docs needed? Is it through the PayPal Integration Settings??

    • antonio September 8, 2014 at 10:53 am #

      Hi,
1.- The referral amount is by order not by product. With the Woocommerce Integration Pro, you can set different rates by product so you can adjust this rate to generate $5 (with this custom method, you can set amount instead of rates in products). The referral’s currency is the same used in the order.
2.- In Affiliates->Totals you can generate the mass payment file, but affiliates doesn’t process the payment. You don’t need any integration.
      cheers

      • Michael September 9, 2014 at 2:43 pm #

How would I install the php file you linked in the custom method option above? Do I drop the file somewhere in the affiliates plugin folder hierarchy? How do I prevent this file from being overwritten or deleted by a future update of the plug-in?

        Thanks.
        Michael

        • antonio September 9, 2014 at 6:46 pm #

          Hi,
the custom method is a plugin. You can download the zip file and install the plugin, activate it, and select the custom method in Affiliates->Settings.
          cheers

      • Tareq September 30, 2014 at 9:24 am #

1-Now i want the referral to get $5 per product regardless of the product’s price. I’ve installed the custom method and selected it from the settings page. Now where can I set that $5 default for all products?
the Affiliates WooCommerce Integration page has a similar choice which is Product rates, but what I want is an amount not a rate.

2-Is there a way to set $ as the currency regardless of the order?

        Thank you again

        • antonio October 1, 2014 at 10:22 am #

          Hi,
1.- the value set in product page is used as amount (the plugin uses the rate value as amount).
2.- Right now it’s not possible.
          cheers

hi, just to tell you that you rock, im have implemented the plugin with woocomerce, tested, and looks good, will be in production soon https://hosting-peru.pe, the only thing that i would like to discuss is from a SEO perspective, how is that sending to landing pages with different URL will help in this, its actually a 404? how do you handle this?

    • kento September 10, 2014 at 1:43 pm #

      Hi Ivan,

Many thanks 🙂 Are you asking about Affiliates or Groups? I think Groups, in that case have a look at the Groups 404 Redirect plugin please, it allows to specify a certain page instead of the 404 (search from within your WordPress dashboard for “Groups 404 Redirect” please as you can install it from there directly).

      Cheers

    Hi team,

I’ve installed Affiliates + WooCommerce light integration and I’m looking to do the following:

    – Automatically sign up every WooCommerce customer to the affiliate program; is this possible?
    – Attribute the affiliate reward in a fixed currency for any transaction, regardless of its currency. This would allow me to set up an approximation of a ‘points’ system by creating a ‘Points’ currency.

I was thinking of doing the ‘Points’ currency by adding it as a ‘Currency’ via functions.php (see below) and removing all other currencies but not sure whether this would work.

Let me know what you think, I’m happy to pay for the Pro if it allows me to set the above up.

    Julie
    ________

    add_filter( ‘affiliates_supported_currencies’, ‘muy_affiliates_supported_currencies’ );

    function my_affiliates_supported_currencies( $currencies ) {
    $currencies[] = ‘Points’;
    return $currencies;

Do we have to manually pay all the affiliates? Or is there a system of automatic transfer of payment. I am using the woocommerce integration and would like to transfer payments to my affiliates on a quarterly basis without having to go through each affiliate one at a time,

Affiliates doesn’t process payments. You could use “Mass Payment File” in Affiliates->Totals to make it more easy.

    1) Is it possible to hold money, for future purchases, for affiliates instead of give them money back?

    2) I have woocommerce subscription with 2 roles. Could apply affiliates just to one of theses roles?

    • antonio August 5, 2014 at 7:50 am #

      Hi,
1.- You could create a coupon to “pay”.
2.- With the Woocommerce Integration you could set 0 as rate in the product page that you don’t want to generate commission to affiliates.
      cheers

      • ivan August 6, 2014 at 6:53 am #

        Thanks, Antonio.

To create a coupon do I need an extra plugin?

        • antonio August 6, 2014 at 10:42 am #

          Hi,
it’s not necessary, you create the coupon in woocommerce and close the referrals according to the coupon value.

I’m having trouble setting up Affiliates pro. I am wanting to set up an affiliates main page just to where the affiliates can login to their accounts. I don’t want open registration. I also need to create separate affiliates profile pages for each affiliate so they can check their performances for each month. Can someone please assist me on how to do this. I’ve read through the documentation and am still having trouble on how to accomplish this. I have downloaded affiliates pro and affiliates by username. Thank you!

    • antonio August 1, 2014 at 7:22 am #

      Hi,
in Affiliates->Options you have a button to “Generate” an affiliates-area page where the affiliates can register and see their personal data.
      cheers

      • Adrian Fraim August 1, 2014 at 2:37 pm #

I know about that, but it will only generate a login area for new users to sign up and I do not want that. I want the affiliates to be able to login to their accounts that are manually created. I do not want open registration.

        • antonio August 2, 2014 at 2:55 pm #

Ah ok. You can use this page code as reference when you can see the shortcodes used to show commissions and links. Here you have more shortcodes and documentation that you can use to create your own page/post.

  32. Alex July 24, 2014 at 11:45 am #

Hi, I saw further above that you were considering adding this as a feature but just wanted to check what the status is before I purchase.

I’ve got a blog at http://www.example.com and a woocommerce installation at subdomain.example.com. Both have separate WordPress installs. I want to install an affiliate program at subdomain.example.com but would like affiliates to be able to promote links on both the blog (www.example.com) and the shop (subdomain.example.com) and credited with the sale.

So if someone clicks on an affiliate link to the blog, clicks around and then clicks through to the subdomain shop the affiliate will get the credit.

I tried searching the comments here but wasn’t able to see if it is possible.

    Thanks for your help

Affiliates MS says that it only works on a Multisite network. Currently the blog and store are on completely separate WordPress installs on the same server. Is there any way of crediting links on sites that are not part of a network?

        • kento August 5, 2014 at 9:55 am #

          Hi Alex,

You can use a technique based on an iframe, this basically consists in placing an iframe on the site where the affiliate program is not running, the iframe adds the affiliate ID if seen in the request to the original site – the following outlines the general idea of the approach (I do not recommend to use it ‘as is’ but have a qualified PHP programmer create a solution based on the idea) :

          <?php $affiliate_id = intval( $_REQUEST['affiliates'] ); ?>
          <iframe src="http://www.example.com/?affiliates=<?php echo $affiliate_id; ?>"></iframe>

BTW this can be done with the plain Affiliates plugin, you don’t need any extension, Pro or Enterprise version to do that.

Hi how long is the cookie when using affiliates pro? Can the length be changed?

    • antonio July 24, 2014 at 6:03 am #

      Hi,
you can change it in Affiliates->Options (Referral timeout).
      cheers

      • Jessica July 24, 2014 at 9:44 am #

Great thanks. So say if I am holding a free webinar that I want my affiliates to promote how do I make sure the affitiate gets the comission if the person they sent to the webinar buys my program? Does that make sense?

        • antonio July 28, 2014 at 8:05 am #

Yes, if your affiliate shares your website, when the referrer buys a product, your affiliate gets a commission. You needthe correct integration, eg. if you use Woocommerce, then you need the woocommerce integration.
          cheers

  34. Terry Majamaki July 8, 2014 at 9:59 pm #

    Got a pre-sales question.

Can an affiliate members have different referral rates? For example

Affiliate A: Earns $10 referral commission
Affiliate B: Earns $20 referral commission
Affiliate C: Earns $0 referral commission

Second, can their rate change. For example:
    Affiliate A: Earns $10 for 1 to 10 referrals, then $20 for 11 to 20 referrals, then $30 for 21 to 30 referrals and so on….

    Does that make sense?

Let me know if Pro can do this, or if it something that can at least be manually adjusted.

Thank you for taking the time to respond.

    • kento July 10, 2014 at 10:28 am #

      Hi Terry,

Thanks for asking 🙂 Regarding your first question, individual rates can be used and this is explained here.

For the second question, it would require a customized solution based on the number of accepted or closed referrals (although I’m actually considering to add this as an option).

      Cheers

      • Terry Majamaki July 10, 2014 at 1:18 pm #

Thank you for the response Kento. For the second question, that would be a great new feature. A sliding or scaling referral rate. For now I’ll have to manage this manually or offline.

    Hi,
I have a question about your affiliate extension for my woo commerce e-shop.

Can your affiliate extension be connected to my affiliate so that also any future recurring customer and orders from my affiliate is connected to that customer? My affiliate is to get paid not only for the first order, but also all future orders from the customers he sent.

    Thanks for your help,

Is there any easy way to make affiliate links attractive.
    Such as: domain.com/affiliatename vs. domain.com/?affiliate=4

    • kento June 30, 2014 at 2:32 pm #

The Affiliates by Username plugin allows to use the username instead of the affiliate ID. But this still must be using the parameter, for example http://www.example.com/?affiliates=johndoe

      • mark July 2, 2014 at 12:27 am #

Okay cool. How are people using the terms of use or agreement in this plugin? I would rather my affiliates be taken to terms of use before hand is this possible

sorry, the answer was for another Mark. 🙁
If you need to show the terms of use, you can use “terms_post_id” attribute in [affiliates_registration] shortcode.
                  cheers

          • mark July 11, 2014 at 4:51 am #

how do I determine the “post id” I tried the “affiliate terms of use page” link but it did not work. How will I add the short code? Onto the registration page?

            • antonio July 11, 2014 at 6:30 am #

              Hi,
when you edit a post in the dashboard, you can see in the direction bar something like this: “http://….?post=552&action=edit” in this case 552 is the ID.
              The shortcode will be: [affiliates_registration terms_post_id="552" /]
              cheers

  41. Michael June 25, 2014 at 7:07 am #

Wonderful plugin. This may be obvious for most, but I couldn’t find any reference on it. I would like to setup the system to pay affiliates manually and for this to be recognized in the system…ie. goes from owing to paid. Is it possible to make these adjustments in the backend myself?

    • antonio June 25, 2014 at 7:19 am #

      Hi,
yes, you can use referral’s status to “pay manually”. You can set default referral status to “pending”, then when you want to “pay”, then change the status to “accepted” or “closed”.
Remember that Affiliates does not process payments.
      cheers

Antonio, aside from the previous question. I went to affiliate>notifications> and adjusted the registration email to have a custom link to affiliate login. However, when I made a moch sign up, the confirm link it sent with pw and un was still the default link yourdomain.com/wp-login.php Is there a special shortcode?

    • kento June 17, 2014 at 12:01 pm #

      Hi Mark,

You’re using the Affiliates Extra Fields plugin for the form I suppose. This isn’t updated yet with the latest changes which involve the notifications, that’s why you don’t see the customized registration email and just the standard one instead.

      • mark June 17, 2014 at 6:18 pm #

You guys instructed me to change my registration email this way. So how do I change my affiliate confirmation email link from the default one?

        • mark June 17, 2014 at 6:46 pm #

Nevermind after I disabled plugin it works fine. Thank you!

What shortcode or how to direct potential affiliates to terms of use before their allowed to sign up? Should I use redirect shortcode to a terms of use page when they sign up or does AP have it built in? So it auto redirects after agreeing to Terms of use. Thank you

          • antonio June 18, 2014 at 6:58 am #

            Hi,
please have a look to [affiliates_registration] shortcode. You can use ‘terms_post_id’ attribute.
            cheers

            • mark June 18, 2014 at 3:29 pm #

antonio, When an affiliate logs in he is taken to wordpress dashboard. However, my affiliates will not know where to go after this. Is there away to direct affiliates directly to a custom shortcode page? Otherwise, I will have to make pages/menus that are seen from the front end without being logged in as an affiliate. If there is a faster way to get questions answered I would appreciate it. Thank you for your time.

            • mark June 23, 2014 at 11:50 pm #

Yes I Have a redirect shortcode set ( [affiliates_login_redirect redirect_url="http://www.lionsinthezoo.co/lion/"] ) however when you log in you are still taken to dashboard instead of redirect request

the login form is fine (has a hidden field with the redirect_url)

                  Hi,
there is a plugin (or your theme) that is forcing redirection to your-acoount page. (If your try to access to http://lionsinthezoo.co/wp-login.php you can see this redirection).
                  You can try:
                  1.- Change to default theme.
2.- If not then disable the plugins except those necessary and activate them one by one to detect which is causing the problem.

Kento, Thank you. Okay so I created a mock login and when I logged into affiliate portal it says “you cannot access this part of the site” Is this something in my settings? In mind my login short code is [affiliates_login_redirect redirect_url="http://www.example.com/goto/"]

            • mark June 15, 2014 at 10:35 pm #

Okay I adjusted my redirect shortcode to something like this: [affiliates_registration redirect="true" redirect_to="http://www.yourdomain.com/affiliates-login"]
Now, it lets me login but it does not redirect to my desired page. It stays on the same page. How can I get the correct “login redirect short code” to direct my affiliates to a custom affiliate area. Thanks

    • antonio June 10, 2014 at 10:28 am #

      Hi,
Affiliates doesn’t process the payment automatically, so you can pay to your affiliates with the interval that you want.

      • digamber June 10, 2014 at 10:35 am #

Thanks for the quick reply, Antonio. What if the affiliates want to see their payments for each month? Currently i only see total payments. Also i have the affiliates-export plugin and want my affiliates to be able to view and see their referrals etc on the front end is this possible.

      • digamber June 10, 2014 at 10:43 am #

Sorry if i’m unclear, but i want to be able to see monthy, quarterly or yearly earnings for my affiliates pay them accordingly and once paid the previous data is reset is this possible?

  48. Demetrio June 9, 2014 at 1:28 pm #

I’m selling the product and I have affiliate partners who published coupon codes to my product on their websites. I’m sure that some customers who are going to buy the product from my website before purchasing it look for the discount on the Web. Usually they find this discount code on the affiliate website, copy it, come back to my site and make a purchase. And affiliates earn their commission, though firstly customer visited my website not theirs.
Could you tell me the solution of this issue?

    • kento June 10, 2014 at 6:40 pm #

I’m not sure what exactly you’re asking. Have you tried the free Affiliates plugin to see if it is suitable? Also I’d recommend to have a quick look at the documentation.

  49. Roy Bonte June 2, 2014 at 8:08 am #

Hi, just a quiick quiestion before we buy enterprise.
We are not looking to give every affiliate multi tier earnings but just a few “super”affiliates. Can you assign multi tier options manually to certain affiliates?

    Bruno

    • kento June 2, 2014 at 9:48 am #

Hi, yes that’s possible. There are general level rates that determine the commissions in the downline for all affiliates, these can be left at zero. You can set level rates for specific affiliates (your “super” affiliates) – when an affiliate in such a super affiliate’s upline refers a sale, the super affiliate will be credited as well according to the specific level rate.

      • Roy Bonte June 6, 2014 at 4:14 pm #

        Thanx Kento,

We have bought the plugin, but i cant find where to ajust the levels for certain affiliates. Only see the general tier settings.

        • kento June 10, 2014 at 6:36 pm #

This is a section when you edit an affiliate. If you click the edit button for an affiliate from Affiliates > Manage Affiliates, you will see the section for specific tier rates at the bottom of the page.
