A very basic question

Hey, I have a very basic issue.
I am using the free version, and I’ve read the documentation, but I need help to understand one simple thing:

When a new customer buys on my website, Where and how can I know if he has been sent by an affiliate ( if he clicked on the affiliate link) and which affiliate?

Thank you a lot for your help

    Hi Lucas,

Glad that helped. And I am great thanks.

Direct is a default affiliate that is created when you install the affiliates plugin.
And it shows up in the affiliate column if the option Store direct referrals is enabled, and a referral is suggested but no affiliate is attributable to it, the referral will be attributed to Direct.

    Cheers,
    Eugen.

Perfect, thank you it is very clear!

I trust you are feeling awesome too 🙂

I have a complementary question, the affiliate column show sometimes only “direct” instead of an affiliate name. What is it?

    Thank you

    Hi Lucas!

I trust you are feeling awesome.

    To answer your question:

    A) Where to find referrals?
    Navigate to your Dashboard -> Affiliates ->Referrals;
You would be redirected to the referrals page, which lists all the referrals made on your website. Sales [purchases] can be identified on this table by looking at the Post column in the referrals result table, in which you would see an item of this format Order – [Date] @ [time]

    B) How can I know if the new buyer is sent by an affiliate?
Once in the Referrals page as indicated above (Dashboard -> Affiliates ->Referrals), next to the Post column you would find the Affiliate column; which indicates the affiliate associated to making the user[client] make the purchase [that is, the username of the affiliate whose link was used ]

    **Quick note:
If no affiliate link was used by the user(client) to make the purchase, the referrals page would not have the order made by the user listed. Hence, the referrals page would only have items that resulted from an affiliate.

I hope this answers your question.

    kindest regards,
    Eugen.
