I would like to do the following. Your advice on how to achieve this would be greatly welcomed…
1. I would like to offer all affiliates coming to website a small commission. Let’s say: 5%.
2. I have courses/quizzes in my WordPress website, using Sensei or LearnDash.
3. When an affiliate completes required courses, his commission automatically goes to 10% on all future sales.
I realize I could do this manually… but could I do this, as outlined above?

If I were to leave the API alone, for now, and just do this manually… what procedure might you recommend? For example, I would set all affiliates to 5% by default and then, after get notified that the course has been completed, we can go in and change the default commission (for that particular affiliate) to 10%. This is correct?

yes, this procedure is correct.
When an affiliate complete the course, you can add a custom rate to this affiliate (edit the affiliate and add this atribute in Affiliates->Manage Affiliates).

sorry, there isn’t Sensei and/or LearnDash integrations. But you could try to create your own solution using Affiliates API.
