Affiliate ID & Referral ID

Posted in

Hi Team,

How can I add a field called “affiliate ID” in the registration form so people can choose their unique ID.

For example, if i want my unique affiliate link to be http://example.com/xyz123

Also, I checked the Referral section in wp admin and it doesn’t show the name or paypal email or any other info of the referrals. So how do I know which referral I should mark as pending or closed if they asked for a refund from me?

Thanks.

    Hi Yunyi,
With Affiliates by Username, the affiliates can use their username instead of the ID.
If you need to see information about the affiliates, you can do it from Affiliates->Manager Affiliates.
From Affiliates->Referrals you can see information about the referrals (commissions). Here you can see who is the affiliate. With this affiliate, from the Affiliates->Manager Affiliates you can see his paypal email.
    Kind Regards,
    Antonio B.

      Hi Antonio,

      1. For now my affiliate link look like that: example.com/?affiliates=eccbc87e4b5ce2fe28308fd9f2a7baf3, what is all the characters? they are not even my Affiliate ID…

I want it to be example.com/myname, for example, what should I do? This should be a feature in affiliate pro. I don’t see why I have to buy another plugin to do this after I have spent way more for affiliate pro. (Please note that I don’t want the word “affiliate” to show up in the url, just mydomain/myname is good)

      2. This is not actually my question.

What I mean is in Affiliates->Referrals I am not able to see the info of the referrals themselves. For example, when I am getting a lot of orders from affiliates and then referral A asked for refund after a few days, it is impossible for me to find out who is the one referred A to me.

Hope the question is clear to you now.

      Thanks.

        Hi,
1.- This is because you have enabled the ‘Affiliate ID Encoding’ option from Affiliates->Settings:General. The word ‘affiliates’ can be changed here too.
The pretty link http://www.example.com/affiliateName instead of http://www.example.com/affiliate=affiliateName is not available.
Affiliates by Username is not included with Affiliates Pro because this is an addon, not an integration.
2.- If you enable the ‘Expand details’, ‘Expand descriptions’ and ‘Expand data’ options from the filter on Affiliates->Referrals, you can see more information about the referrals. Maybe using these datas and the filter (filtering by the affiliate), you can do it more easily.
        Kind Regards,
        Antonio B.

I see, so there is no way to remove the word “affiliate”?

Is there any way for me to change the affiliate ID of any affiliate? or giving them a specific id for example: xyz when I create a new affiliate?

            Hi yunyi,
Sorry, you can not remove the parameter, you can change this from Affiliates->Settings
The affiliate’s id can not be changed, using Affiliates by Username you can use the username instead of the ID number.
            Kind Regards,
            Antonio B.
