Affiliate login and password resets

Tags

I seem to have a problem with my affiliates being able to get to their dashboard.
Once registered, they are being taken to the login page again, with no link to the dashboard.
Sometimes having logged in and come back to the login page, (when testing) I can click on the registration tab and the dashboard appears.
But it is inconsistent and bewildering for anyone who is not used to just ‘pressing buttons’ to get somewhere.
It puts people off and I am losing affiliates because of it.
Also no option to reset password seems to be available on this page? Should there be?
Any suggestions please?

    Hi Jayne,

    Welcome to our support forum.

When an affiliate registers using the Registration form found in your Dashboard page, there are two records created on your site, a user record and and affiliate record mapped to it. From your description this can be related to a user-approval system which in turn conflicts with the whole registration process. If new users require approval to activate their accounts then make sure to take a test registration and then approve the new user.

Further down your description you mention that sometimes you can access the Dashboard by clicking the registration tab and because this issue sound like a caching issue, then make sure to clear/purge your cache and if possible exclude the Dashboard page from caching – caching obviously involves caching plugins but also caching services running directly from your hosting server. It is also possible that your newly-registered affiliate is seeing a cached version of the Dashboard page instead of the proper Overview section and the rest of the available sections.

As for the third part, password reset can be done through the default wp-login.php page, the page that appears when you’re trying to access your Dashboard as a non-logged in user. Failed logins are always redirected there hence the Affiliates Dashboard page doesn’t have an option to reset the password.

    Kind regards,
    George
