Affiliate pro with paypal integration not tracking Affiliate referrals

Posted in

I am running a website which sells one pdf product which is sold via Easy Digital Downloads. The site has an Optimize Press home page with a few Buy Now buttons. When clicked, the buttons get the user to a checkout page (one that uses the [download_checkout] EDD shortcode). The items are already placed in the cart and all they have to do is fill out their name and email, and then hit “complete purchase” which brings them to a paypal page which processes their payment and redirects to a receipt page. That all works well but I want to have affiliates which will have their own urls to send their clients to my site and get payed a commission. I bought/installed Affiliates Pro and Affiliates pro Paypal integration. Everything seems to work, Except when someone purchases through an affiliate link, the sales don’t get credited to the affiliates ( no referrals are assigned to affiliates.) I tried to enclose the [download_checkout] shortcode in the [Affiliates_paypal form] shortcode, but nothing seems to work.

The site is: definitiveguidetopr.com

      Hi,
the problem is that you are using Sell Downloads as shopping cart and there isn’t a integration to this plugin.
I have been looking the plugin to create you a solution, but it is not sufficiently versatile.
      cheers

Dont want to be pushy – I am shure you got more things to do – but it would be nice if you could help me to make Post Affiliate Pro working.

    Thanks a lot.

    Hi Kento,

Being not familiar with shortcodes I’ve emailed you the information.

    Hi,

I have exactly the same problem that Katrina has. “Sell Downloads” provides the exact number of sales, PayPal confirmes the payment, “Affiliate Pro” does not show the referrals nor the referral rate.

      Hi Jens,

Can you provide details about how you have it set up please? Including a link to the site and shortcode usage please.

Hi! I seem to be having the same issue. I just purchased Affiliate Pro with PayPal. I have successfully set up the IPN on PayPal, fully linked and enabled. I had to uncheck the secure URLs box to get it to send successfully. I set up a test affiliate with a referral ratio of 0.2.

The hits and visitors are being tracked, but the referrals and ratios are not working. I tested multiple transactions with a simple PayPal button form just like the example. Payments are successful, there is a successful redirect back to the main website. Just no referrals, no commissions.

    Any ideas?

I am having troubles getting the paypal integration to track the sales to affiliates also. I have the IPNs configured correctly, and have unchecked the use secure URLs since I do not think I have a secure url right now. The sales are going through fine, just no tracking of the referrals, I ahve been testing in sandbox mode would that have an effect?

    • kento February 13, 2014 at 10:43 am #

Ok that seems correct, testing in sandbox should work fine. Have you enclosed the PayPal button forms with the [affiliates_paypal_form] shortcode?

    Hi,

I emailed my information yesterday and I still haven’t received any response. Since I haven’t gotten any confirmation that my email was received, I was wondering If there were any issues?

    Thanks!

OK, Affiliates Pro Easy Digital Downloads Integration is needed.
      cheers

I did initially purchase Affiliates Pro for EDD,. It wasn’t attributing purchases to affiliates, so after searching the forums, I was under the impression that I needed the paypal integration as well. Now I have both installed…

Is there a different reason why the affiliates aren’t recording referrals?

If I don’t need the Paypal integration, should I ask for a refund with support?

    Hi,
if you are using Easy Digital Downloads you need Affiliates Pro for EDD, not Affiliates Paypal Integration.
Please send us to support at itthinx dot com your order id if you want to change the integration.
    cheers
