Affiliates Permanent Auto Assignment

When a new affiliate registers, how does the Affiliate Permanent selection (in the Users area) auto assign the new affiliate rather than having to manually assign for each new Affiliate?

Right now, each time a new affiliate registers, I have to go into the Users area and change the “Permanent Affiliate” selection from ‘Not Assigned’ to their name. Shouldn’t this automatically select upon affiliate registration? If not, how can this be accomplished?

Can I chose to have only certain affiliates get this feature?

I am wanting to NOT have the affiliates permanent be automatically assigned to all my affiliates that sign up with me. I only have a handful of affiliates that I would like to turn this permanent feature on for. I think that I read that you can turn it off of affiliates but that would be a LOT of work for me to do that, I would rather just turn it ON for the few that I am going to give this permanent pay feature to.

I hope it can do this 🙂

      Hi Thomas,

The permanent assignment can’t be applied to individual affiliates only as it is currently. But I’d be happy to consider extending the functionality of the plugin so that it can be enabled individually for affiliates. It makes a lot of sense if you have a small group of privileged affiliates. Thanks for the suggestion!

      Cheers

BTW you probably misunderstand how the assignment works, a new *customer* is assigned to the referring affiliate, not a new affiliate.

    Hi Robert,

The assignment is done automatically when appropriate conditions apply. See http://www.itthinx.com/documentation/affiliates-permanent/ for details please (under the heading “Permanent Assignments” the conditions are explained).

    Cheers
