Affililates by username, custom url

Hi there.

I have affiliates by username installed. I want my affiliate links to go to the main shop page of the website.

I’ve got the below on my affiliates-area page, the top one works, the bottom one gets a 404 page not found error:

[affiliates_by_username][affiliates_affiliate_link type=”pretty”][/affiliates_by_username]

[affiliates_by_username][affiliates_affiliate_url type=”pretty” url=”http://www.hypnobirthinggoldcoast.com.au/shop”][/affiliates_by_username]

I want the link to look like this
http://hypnobirthinggoldcoast.com.au/shop/aff/rocko

Please let me know what I’m doing wrong.
Ta

What do I need to change in the Permalinks page?

    Custom structure? /%postname%/

I don’t think that you don’t need to change that, simply go to Affiliates > Options again, change the URL parameter to something else temporarily, for example “ref”, hit Save and then change it back to “aff”.

After you’ve visited the Settings > Permalinks page go to Affiliates > Options again, change the URL parameter to something else temporarily, hit Save and then change it back to aft. The links should work now.

Hi, first try to visit the permalinks section under Settings > Permalinks please, the permalink structure might need to be updated and WordPress does that when you visit the page.

URLs like http://www.example.com/shop/aff/john won’t work because the URL itself does not point to a valid page, in this case you need to use the URL parameter form, i.e. http://www.example.com/shop/?aff=john
