i have setup restricted categories and i can still see all the categories menu links in the sidebar category widget, even for users that is restrictefd to that category.
any ideas why?

why is that an expected behavior when user should have notrhing to do with a restricted category?
i really need to restrict anything that has to do with a category that is restricted for a user?

The category links themselves are visible but the posts in them are not, this is the expected behavior as the posts are protected.

If you are sure that you have set correctly Groups and Groups Restrict Categories, yes please post a link to your site.
Also, make sure to have a full backup of your production site, or you have a test site that you can provide admin access. To do so send your administrator credentials to support [at] itthinx [dot] com and please don’t forget to mention a link to this topic.
