Posted in

We are using Affiliate Pro with Affiliates WooCommerce Integration Light

We desire 30% commission for an affiliate.
There are several locations to set a commission %:
* Affiliates WooCommerce Integration Light
* User Registration
* Settings – Commissions
What do we set, where to achieve our goal of 30% commission for this affiliate.

Kind Regards

    Hi Joe,

Yes you can disable Auto-referrals in Affiliates > Settings, under Referrals tab.

    Cheers,
    George

    Hi George,

Is there a setting to prevent an affiliate from receiving a commission on their own purchases?

    Kind Regards

    Joe

    You are welcome Joe!

Regarding the sale #987 the referral recorded has a 1.27 USD commission which is the 30% of 4.24 total amount. It’s the third referral in the list under Affiliates > Referrals. The amount excludes shipping, even if you add shipping charges, these won’t be calculated for the commission.

Also, as i mentioned on my previous comment, the commission to the Direct is for the user registration which has nothing to do with the sale referral. You can disable User Registration commissions under Affiliates > User Registration.

    Cheers,
    George

    Hi George,

Just confirm net sales are total sale price minus shipping and transaction fee?

    Kind regards

    Hi George,

Thank you for the 5 star support.

    One last question, “I hope”.

I’ve been asked why the test sales #987 with Howard’s commission of $2.12 not calculate to 30% commission?

Also, why is the .10 being calculated for Direct for that purchase?

    Kind Regards

    Joe

    HI Joe,

Thanks for providing access to your site.
You have set it up correctly. I’ve made a test order with a total of 16.95 on affiliate id 2 and the referral commission was 5.08 aka 30% of 16.95. The actual 30% would be 5.085 but it is rounded up since you use 2 decimals( the default ), if though you like to have 3 decimals, please let me know.

If there is anything else i could assist you, feel free to ask me here.

    Kind regards,
    George

    Hi Joe,

You can grant your affiliates a 30% commission if you set the Value to 0.3 and the Method to Referral Rate under Affiliates > Settings, Commissions tab. Note that the commission is calculated based on the net sale amount.

Please check if there is a referral recorded for the direct for the same purchase like the referral recorded for your affiliate. This can be found under Affiliates > Referrals, if you enable Expand details and data in the Filters section.

Another possibility for the referral granted to the Direct, is that you have enabled commissions to the Direct under Affiliates > Settings, Referrals tab and the referral has been recorded for a new user registration. User registration settings can be found under Affiliates > User Registration. If direct referrals are enabled, whenever there is a referral recorded and no affiliate applies, then the referral is granted to the direct. This means that even if you visit your site with the normal URL, i.e http://www.example.com, the referral will be recorded to the direct affiliate.

If none of the above applies to your case, i think it’s better for me to have a look on your settings. You can send me temp admin access to george@itthinx.com.

    Cheers,
    George

    Correction on last post.
    .10 cents to Direct
    Affiliate commission is about 26%

Our Affiliate commission is set to 30%.

During our test purchase, we have commission totals to affiliate of 27.5% and 10% to Direct?

How do we get 30% for affiliate?

Why are we getting 10% to Direct when test customer came in through affiliate coded page?

    Kind Regards

    Joe

    Hi Joe,

    I’m glad you found it.
The rate set in Affiliates WooCommerce Light integration is the rate used to grant commission to affiliates. However, Affiliates WooCommerce integration is more feature-rich and IMO you will find it more useful.

    Cheers,
    George

    Hi George,

I see after installing the Affiliates WooCommerce Integration that a Referral Rate is not required.

    Kind regards
    Joe

    Thank You George,

What should the Referral Rate in “Affiliates WooCommerce Integration Light” plugin be set to and who does it refer to, a specific affiliate or of the affiliates?

    Kind regards
    Joe

    Hi Joe,

I would recommend you to install the advanced version of Affiliates WooCommerce Integration through Affiliates > Settings, Integrations tab. The advanced version is bundled with Affiliates Pro and Enterprise and you are eligible to install and use it for free, once you install Itthinx Updates plugin which handles your license, gives you access to the free integrations of Affiliates Pro and notifies you of updates for the Itthinx plugins.

Regarding the commission, there are several options to set a commission. If you prefer a specific affiliate to get 30% then go to Affiliates > Manage Affiliates and edit that specific affiliate. There you can add an attribute of Referral Rate and value 0.3. The rest of your affiliates should get the value set under Affiliates > Settings, Commissions tab, ie Referral Rate with value 0.2, for 20% commission.

FYI User Registration commission has to do with commissions granted whenever one of your affiliates refers a new user to your site. Affiliates WooCommerce product rates sets a commission rate per product.
I would also recommend you to have a look at the documentation on Commissions.

    Kind regards,
    George
