Coupons are not valid when linked to an affiliate

Posted in

Been running my website for around a year now and have been an eCommerce store running woo-commerce. My coupons have always worked normally… I would create them and then customers would be able to enter a code during checkout. Downloaded Affiliates Pro and everything has worked great so far except for when I add a coupon to my test affiliate under attributes.

For example; I have a coupon code titled “fav20” for 20% off. It has been used before by other customers with an expiration at the end of this year (2019). It applies to all products on my site and never has been an issue for my site before. Unfortunately, once I link it to the test affiliate it no longer is read as valid through my website. Once I remove it from the test affiliate it is valid once again. My theme is flatsome for wordpress.

Thanks,
Josh

    Hi Joshua,

In this case I think it’s better to have a look at your Dashboard. Please enable debugging in WP temporarily and then send us temp admin access to george at itthinx dot com.

    Kind regards,
    George

    Hi Joshua,

    Thanks for using Affiliates Pro.

Please check the affiliate whose attribute is the coupon code in question and make sure that the code is added in lowercase. This can be an issue since WC supports only lowercase while Affiliates plugin supports both cases. The difference is that if the coupon ie FAV20 is added as an attribute and the customer uses fav20 on checkout, it won’t be recognised as a valid affiliate coupon.

Affiliates plugin supports both lower- and uppercase codes since it integrates with various platforms and therefore the code fav20 is not the same as FAV20 for Affiliates plugin.

    Kind regards,
    George

The coupon on both the wordpress end and the affiliates end is all lowercase. “fav20” in both cases.
