Existing Accounts

Posted in

Hi, I am trying to setup the affiliate registration and I have a few questions.

1. How do I automatically email existing users that have just become an affiliate? I have tested and no email arrives unless they are not currently registered.
2. Can I email them their coupon code(s) on registration?
3. Where else can affiliates see their coupon codes, I do not see them on the dashboard?
4. I get an error when I try and add an affiliate that already exists as a customer, unless logged in as them.
5. Is there an option I am missing for selecting a user role on registration?
6. Can i redirect to a different page after successful registration?

Thanks in advance for your help.

One Response to Existing Accounts

    Hello Melissa,

I am truly sorry for the delayed response to your topic. Please pardon me and thanks for reaching out.

    1. We do not support mass emails to email existing affiliate users, because the system is not incorporating a mailer beyond its notifications. But you could achieve mass mailings with our system using its export facilities to create mailing lists; you could send out bulk emails to existing affiliates. That’s very common and can easily be handled by exporting the affiliate data (e.g. email and name) under Affiliates > Manage Affiliates and then importing the file obtained to a mailing list. Thunderbird allows you to do that and other mail programs and services like MailChimp etc. offer similar facilities to import or update a mailing list and then send out mass emails via BCC:

    2. No, at least not with the email that is sent right upon registration.

    3. Displaying Coupons in the Affiliate Area: To display the coupon(s) assigned to an affiliate, add the [affiliates_affiliate_profile] shortcode to the affiliate area page like this: [affiliates_affiliate_profile show_name="false" show_email="false" show_attributes="coupons"]. This will display the coupons that are assigned to the affiliate who is viewing the page. And you can view the page via this link; [siteurl]/affiliate-area/, where [siteurl] is your domain name.

    4. Please, could you send over the error message you get when you try to add the user?

    5. No there isn’t one, but you could generate an affiliate page which allows people to register as an affiliate on your site

    6. Yes, this can be achieved by using this shortcode which embeds an affiliate registration form on a page. This will display any enabled fields as defined in the Registration settings [affiliates_registration redirect="true" redirect_to="url_to_redirect"/] to enable the redirect after signup.

Again I must apologize for the delayed response.

Happy holidays and I look forward to hearing from you and helping you resolve these issues.

    Kindest regards,
    Eugen.
