Getting Affiliates enterprise and WC vendors to work together

Hi, I’m posting this in both plugins forums as I need help from both sides to understand how each plugin handles its actions.

I’d like to use Affiliates Enterprise with Woocommerce WC Vendors – the affiliates commission being the commission the site-owner would have earned through the sale of a vendors product.

i.e. A vendor product is sold through an affiliate link to my site. Vendor gets 80%, affiliate gets 20%

Ideally, I would like to hook into the part where wc vendors splits the payment, then somehow redirect and credit the site-owners portion to the affiliate. But i’m not sure that can be done.

However I think I can do it using the plugins as they are – if I set up the commissions right, but without knowing when each plugin hooks in to apply commissions i’m worried they wont be applied to the correct amounts.

For example: If I set the vendors commission to 100% would affiliates be able to deduct commission from that sale? Or would wc vendors override it in order to give the vendor 100%.

If I set the vendors commission to 80% would affiliates be able to deduct the remaining 20% from the total value? Or would it try to deduct 20% from the site-owners balance (20%) after the vendors commission has been deducted?

Or, would affiliates apply first and deduct 20% from the order before the vendors commission was deducted, possibly meaning wc vendors deducts 80% from the site-owners balance (80%) after the affiliates commission has been deducted?

    Hi Patricia,

I would say it is possible for each affiliate to represent all 5 vendors. The only restriction is, one affiliate per product.

    Cheers,

    Hi George,

So i’ve been reading through the plugins forums and on a couple of posts you seem to be saying that each product can only be assigned to one affiliate.

I may have misunderstood and you could have been talking about the relationship through an individual product purchase, but it also reads like each product can only be represented by one affiliate.

So just to get it right in my head… I have 5 vendors and 5 affiliates, can each affiliate represent all 5 vendors? or is only one affiliate assigned to each vendor?

    Best regards

    Trish

    Hi George

Thanks so much for your reply. From your description it does look like affiliates products will do what I need. I think I must have looked at the extension before but the plugins description didn’t make it as clear as you have.

The description reads “Handle product commissions with Affiliates Products – automatically grant commissions for product partners OR affiliates on product sales.” So I had assumed from that that it wouldn’t assign commission to both.

I’m off to take a deeper look, thanks again for the pointer!

    Hi Patricia,

From the WC Vendors’ plugin description, the plugin will grand the vendor the rate set under its settings, whether you use the global rate or per product rate. Again, this is what i read in the plugin description, so the best place for information will be the plugin forum, as you already did.

Regarding Affiliates Enterprise, i can give you a solid reply when it comes to supported features. Although Affiliates plugins don’t calculate how much is the remaining commission to grant to the referring affiliate, IMO it is not needed. As long as you keep track of your settings, you will not exceed the limit of 100%.
If you have concerns on how both plugins will work together, you can also have a look at Affiliates Products premium plugin. Affiliates Products is an extension for Affiliates Enterprise. With Affiliates Products, you can assign each of your products to an affiliate. Whenever there is a new referral recorded, the product vendor set under Affiliates Products will get the commission set there and the referring affiliate will get the commission set under Affiliates > Settings > Commissions. For more information on this solution you can reply here or you can have a look at the plugin description.

    Kind regards,
    George
