I am wondering if it is possible to assign a particular user to moderate all new topics under a specific topic category. For example, a forum category of ‘technical questions’ would automatically notify the designated technical person.
Second question: is there a way to allow for users to post anonymously on a forum?

With regards to your first inquiry, if I understand you properly, you would love to have a user added as a topic moderator, to handle topics within a forum? If yes, then it is possible:
From your admin dashboard:
* Navigate to Users -> All users
* Select the user of interest and in the bulk option section, choose the Topic Moderators group
* Set group action to Add to group and click on apply.

Furthermore, it isn’t possible to post anonymously on the forum.

Thanks for getting back to me. I already have myself and the other moderator allocated to the group labeled ‘Topic Moderators’, however, I was wondering if I could have the other moderator receive automatic notifications for all topics posted in all of the categories, except for one category, and have all topics posted in that one category (tech questions), to automatically get sent to me.
I hope this makes sense. It would seem like a feature that others would find useful as well?

At the moment, you can’t manage this at a user-level. However, if you want to manage different forums by different users, you would have to use different groups for each forum, and the forum “manager” would have to belong to the appropriate group.
