[groups_paypal_return] shows nothing

Posted in

Hi,

Using groups-paypal-1.3.1 and groups-subscriptions-2.5.0

[groups_paypal_return] is empty when doing a real (recurring) subscription. But it renders fine when doing a one-off payment.

I don’t know if it has something to do with the time that elapsed before IPNs were generated.
At least today, in various tests I did, IPNs of type subscr_signup and subscr_payment occurred between 5 and 54 minutes after checkout was made.

Even though [groups_paypal_return] shows nothing, subscription gets active status after IPNs arrive.

I have only worked in sanbox so far.

I didn’t use show_message shortcode attribute (if that’s what it is for).

Regards.

    Hi Eugen,

    I missed telling that I am using a sub-site in a multisite.

I enabled wp debugging. It works since it logs other things not related to Groups (e.g deprecation notices).

After doing a subscription, debug.log shows nothing related to the groups/groups-susbscriptions/groups-paypal.

Since subscriptions setting > logging was enabled, I disable it and do another subscription.
Nothing logs to debug.log. No error, no warning, no info.

    But [groups_paypal_return] shows nothing.

    Regards.

    Hi Gerardo,

I trust you are safe and well!

Thank you so much for using Groups and its extensions.

You are indeed correct [groups_paypal_return show_message=”true”] would show the message after checkout.

However, please can you enable WP Debug from your wp-config.php and do a real (recurring) subscription. Then send over the debug.log file to me here: eugen [at] itthinx [dot] com.

I look forward to helping you resolve this issue.

    STAY SAFE!
    Warm regards,
    Eugen.
