Images in WunderSlider/NextGEN Gallery not responsive.

Posted in

I need some expert help with WunderSlider please. I have been trying all sorts of things, but cannot get it to work as described on your website. I have checked the forums and docs, but found nothing that helps.

On a client’s WordPress site that I am upgrading (URL to development site: ), I’m using the commercial version of WunderSlider in conjunction with the WonderSlider Gallery and NextGEN Gallery.

I’ve managed to get everything working pretty well, except that the images are not being responsive on mobile devices or smaller screens, which is one of the reasons that I purchased it.

From your website:

“Responsive & Flexible Layout

Adaptive display modes support responsive designs without the need for media queries.

WunderSlider’s flexible sizing system offers transition effects in all modes:

Fullscreen mode – occupies the entire viewport while staying in the background so that content can be displayed on top.
Proportional mode – adapts proportionally to the screen size.
Fixed mode – displays at a set fixed size.”

I am using the Proportional mode. I’m hoping that I can get the images to be responsive and also to respond to swiping, zooming, and panning gestures on mobile devices. Is this possible? And if so, can you please tell be in precise detail how to make this happen please?

Additionally, I want to be able to link from each image in the Slider to a specific post in WordPress and need to know precisely how to achieve this as well please?

According to all the documentation I have read, and the samples I have seen… such as this one for example, (http://wunderslider.com/wordpress/)… I should be able to achieve all of my goals. This is the kind of behavior I need.

Please help me to learn the exact step by step procedure to achieve all of my goals. I am very hopeful that you can help me and it will be extremely awesome if I can get everything working the way I want.

I’m wondering if I am going about this the wrong way? Perhaps I cannot achieve my goals using the NextGEN gallery plugin? Do I need to add some PHP and/or CSS code to WordPress? If so, please tell me precisely how to do this.

Thank you very much for your valuable and much appreciated help, and for what I hope will be the answer to achieving my goals.

    Kento,

Is there anyway to expedite support for this?

I’m struggling daily with getting WunderSlider to work like it does in your sample here: http://wunderslider.com/wordpress/

I’ve set up a test page here: http://grove.onegoodone.com/home-2/

I keep trying to use the code provide for the sample referenced, but no matter what I do, I keep getting XML Parser errors.

There must be something that I am doing wrong or missing?

This is a clients site, and I really need to get this resolved quickly.

Please, help me as soon as possible.

    Thanks, John.

I’ve checked the page, looks like you’ve solved the XML errors.

    Hello Kento,

Here’s the URL of the WordPress development site: http://grove.onegoodone.com/

I have a WunderSlider working in conjunction with the WunderSlider Gallery and the NextGEN Gallery plugins on the Home page. But the images are not resizing when I change the size of my browser or when I view them on a mobile device (iPhone).

I want the images to re-size responsively on mobile devices, to respond to touch gestures (swiping to move to the next image, and pinching to zoom in or out of image), and I also want to be able to link them to specific posts in WordPress.

What I really need is some precise step by step instructions on how to achieve my goals.

Thanks for your help. If you can help me achieve my goals, I will be very grateful.

      Hi John,

Normally issues like that are due to conflicting CSS rules. I suggest to debug them using Firebug to see what rules are changed.

Regarding instructions, there’s a manual included with the download which gives extensive examples and instructions on all options. Note that using the ‘pure’ WunderSlider gives you more control when needed than using the WunderSlider Gallery plugin.

    Hi John,

From what you describe I would say some adjustments to your CSS would suffice.

The URL to the development site is missing, can you please post it so we can have a look?

    Cheers
