Not track referrals

Posted in

Hi, i have the plugin installed on two websites. It works fine on one whereas it does not track referrals on the other website. It does track visits and clicks but not referrals (which is the most important thing). I need someone to take a look at my website and fix it. www.farawaybottles.com

    Hey Marco,

    I’ve just checked your site, but still there seems to be no cookie stored when I follow an affiliate link. Did you get anything logged in wp-content/debug.log file?

    If your site is running live at the moment I would recommend you to create a staging site, and we can definitely have a look, perform tests and locate that issue. The reason for asking you to create a staging is because we need to disable plugin(s) and switch the active theme without hesitating.

    Kind regards,
    George

    Hi George,

    I have done what you advised but still have the same problem. References are recorded in Direct, not assigned to the related agent.

    Hey Marco,

    I think you should also reinstall Affiliates plugin.
    First, go to Affiliates > Settings and under General tab make sure that the option to Delete data upon plugin deactivation is not enabled. Just in case take also a full backup of your site files and database.
    Then proceed and deactivate Affiliates Pro plugin only, delete it and then reinstall it.

    Kind regards,
    George

    Hi George,

    I did followed all your steps and now referrals get tracked. The problem is that referrals do not get assigned to the related affiliate. Can you please take a look at it?

    Thanks

    Hey Marco,
    How are you planning to track referrals on your site? If this is through referred WC sales, then you should also install Affiliates WooCommmerce integration, through your Dashboard in Affiliates > Settings, under Integrations tab.

    After using an affiliate link, I noticed that no cookies are stored for your site which is not normal. Please check your installation and start disabling plugins until you reach the one that is causing this.

    The debugging can be enabled by editing the wp-config.php file found in the folder where your site is installed, you need to access it through your web server.

    Also, I’ve noticed that you use WP-Optimize plugin which can be harmful for your installation since it is capable of deleting db tables essential for the normal functionality of your site, including plugins like Affiliates Pro. I would recommend you to disable it or even uninstall it from your site.

    Kind regards,
    George

    Hey Marco,

    Thanks for reaching our support channel for Affiliates Pro.
    May you send us temp admin credentials for the website having issues to george at itthinx dot com? In the message also include the link to your website wp-admin and also enable WP debugging in case something is wrong.

    To enable debugging, edit your wp-config.php file and do the following:
    Replace this line:

    define( ‘WP_DEBUG’, false );

    with these lines:

    define( ‘WP_DEBUG’, true );
    define( ‘WP_DEBUG_LOG’, true );
    define( ‘WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY’, false );

    All log messages will be stored in wp-content/debug.log file.

    Kind regards,
    George
