Hi — I’m working on getting Affiliates Pro set up. In the affiliate are on my site, I filled out the form myself just to test it out. Then my WordPress site said I need to log back in (to my website). When I try to log in using my regular site log in credentials it says that I am entering the wrong username and password. I can’t get logged into my site. When I select Lost Password — it directs me to my website affiliate area. Why would my affiliate area and my wordpress login be synced? First — I really need to get logged back into my site. Second — are affiliates going to have the same issue?
Now I can’t log in to my WordPress account.

The option Duplicate Referrals is there because some e-commerce platforms generate duplicate requests occasionally, so it is recommended to keep it unchecked.
Referral rate and product rates are two different functions of the plugin. If referral rate is set, then the commission amount is proportional to the amount of the originating transaction. If product rates are set, then each product can grant a different commission to the affiliate. For more info on Commissions, please have a look at the documentation as well.
Also, you will find info on how to set up product rates in Affiliates>WooCommerce Integration. WooCommerce Integration can be installed if you go to Affiliates>Settings>Integrations.
Exactly, if Referral Notifications is enabled, every time there is a referral recorded, the administrator will be notified by email.

Under Notifications > Referral Notifications I just want to make sure I understand this correctly. Does this mean myself (as the administrator) will get an email every single time someone purchases an item using an affiliate link?
I am using WooCommerce with my affiliate program. In the main affiliate plugin under Settings > Commissions, I’ve set my referral rate at 30%. Do I also have to set that rate under WooCommerce Integration > Product Rates?
Another question. Can you please help me understand what Duplicate referrals means? I see this sentence — Allow to record duplicate referrals for the same affiliate (based on amount, currency, internal type and reference). But I’m still unsure. Can you give me a simple example of what this pertains to?
Hi Kento — Okay I increased this limit. Not sure if it’s helped with things but it looked like it needed to be increased so thanks for the tip. I submitted this on another support ticket but thought I’d just continue the conversation here.

I tried deleting the page multiple times. I even tried deleting the plugin again and re-installing but the login with not show up. Any advice? Thanks!

Hi Kento — I finally deleted all of the associated plugins with itthinx and affiliates pro completely from my site and now am able to login. Before I re-install everything to see if I can get it to work, will you please help me understand why when I set up an affiliate account to test out the program it would be linked to my WordPress account? I don’t want to go through the same problem and I don’t want affiliates to run into that issue as well.

It is possible that your PHP memory limit is too low to run additional plugins and you would have to raise it. Do you have WooCommerce installed? If yes, then you can check your current memory limit under WooCommerce > System Status.
You can see how to raise this for example on Increasing the WordPress Memory Limit – try a value like 128M – make a full backup of your site and database before you proceed and if you edit the wp-config.php file, make sure that what you add is exactly as suggested there, otherwise you can end up with a WSOD (your site showing up blank due to syntax errors) and you should have at least a copy.

This seems really weird to me. I am uncomfortable sending you admin access to my website. I don’t understand why I’m getting two different answers. Can anyone respond to my question on this forum? George are you the developer for this plugin? Kent — they are certainly linked b/c when I click on lost password from my WordPress log-in it re-directes me to my website with the lost password page. I can’t even request a new password from WordPress. What’s the return policy for Itthinx plugins?

You are getting responses from our support team and our request for access to your site is so that we can help you. If you don’t want to grant admin access to your public site, then you can set up a staging site which replicates it and grant access to that one. Without being able to actually look at your site, test it and check your settings, it’s impossible to help. If you desire a refund, it’s possible and we clearly outline that on Terms & Conditions. The latter would be a better choice if you don’t allow us to help you further.

This happens because an affiliate is not a user until he/she is connected to a user.
However, if the affiliate has registered through the registration form in Affiliate Area page, there is a user record for that affiliate.

I tried both of these things and it’s still not working. This is super frustrating and confusing! Why would they even be linked?

What you describe has nothing to do with the Affiliates system, it’s certainly not part of anything it would do and it would not log you out or inhibit your access. You probably have tried with the wrong credentials or you had an update running and were logged out for security reasons. If you test, you should use one browser for your admin session and another browser for your test affiliate so you don’t have to log in and out to switch between those accounts.

You can try deactivating Affiliates Pro plugin, and then try to login using the normal WP login form.
If that doesn’t do the trick, try deleting Affiliates Pro plugin and then reinstall it.
In general, in order for an affiliate to be able to login, a user record should exist for that affiliate.
