Recurring comissions not clear

Posted in

Limit / Timeout
If set to 0, there is no time limit for referrals on recurring payments granted to the initial affiliate. Any other number will limit new referrals for a subscription to so many days after the initial referral.

Is this timeout like… after 1 year they stop getting commissions? Or is this a timeout before commissions are paid?

I need a way to not pay an affiliate until their referral converts in month 2.

Still i have not clear about the Recurring commissions.
I want to give commission to affiliate only first time when after 30 days of trial , we get payment from referral. So for that i need to check this option (Maintain subscription referrals for the initial affiliate) or not?
Or what would be limit for that?

I want that affiliate get payment only one time.

      Hi Brian,

Yes, you need to check “[x] Maintain subscription referrals for the initial affiliate” so that the affiliate gets commissions for recurring payments. If this option is disabled, recurring payments would not result in commissions for the referring affiliate.

If you only want to grant a single commission for the first recurring payment, then you have to set a limit that allows to cover the period after signing up but does not extend up to the second recurring payment. If I understand correctly, you would have an incoming payment after a trial period of 30 days, you can set the limit to 31 days to cover for the first payment. After that, the referring affiliate won’t get credited with additional referrals related to the subscription.

        Hello Kento,
        Greetings!

Thanks for reply. One more question :

I have read document but still confuse about that payment will be done automatically or we need to do it manually.
Actually I have installed s2 member plug-in at my site and it uses authorize.net payment gateway and some user ant the member at my site they become also affiliate to my site so. For both s2 member and only affiliate I need to done payment for affiliate manually?

          Hi Brian,

This is covered in the Payments section of the documentation. You basically generate a file with sums for a period of time which you can then use to make the payments in batch or manually. Never mind the button on the Totals page saying PayPal, it’s a text file that you can use manually or convert to a format understood by a payment processor that admits batch payments.

As the original question on this topic is solved I’m closing this one now, feel free to open a new topic if further help is needed.

          Cheers

So placing 0 in the Limit / Timeout means it will continue on forever or only one year?

I need it to go on as long as the customers are still subscribed

    Hi,
It’s the first one: “after 1 year they stop getting commissions”.
Seems interesting the option of not paying until some time after. We note it for future updates.
    cheers
