Referral lifetime – variable time periods

We have built our platform as a multi-site network, in order to allow the creation of “white label” landing page sites for a small number of key “super-affiliate” partners.

It is a membership subscription based site and at the moment have set a default time period of 365 days for affiliates to receive commission on recurring payments of their referrals. This is fine for “standard” member affiliates, but my question is if / how we can set longer commission referral periods for the “super affiliate” partners?

    Hi

Excellent news – we would be happy to wait for this as a feature upgrade some time in the coming months.

    Many thanks for now.

    Hi

Good to know that this is possible, however have limited experience of custom coding and filters, so unless there are more detailed instructions available, we may need a developer for this.

Because we have set a default commission period of 365 days, perhaps we will defer this until later in the year, before the default period elapses.

    Thank you

      Hi Paul,

I think this would be a good improvement for the plugin in general. I’d be happy to add this to the features of the plugin, so that we can have individual referral timeouts per affiliate. It will take a bit as we have other additions in the development schedule, but if you can wait for it to be implemented you wouldn’t need to have it done specifically for you. Would that be ok?

    Hi Paul,

This would involve some custom coding.

There are two filters that could be used for that:

    – affiliates_parse_request_affiliate_id
    – aff_cookie_timeout_days

The first one would need to be used to check if the affiliate ID is of a super affiliate, the second one which is called in sequence, can be used to extend the validity.

The implementation would have to have a list of affiliate IDs to identify the super-affiliates.

    I hope that helps …
