Referral Rate Hierarchy?

Posted in

You can change the referral rate globally, per affiliate, or per product. What is the hierarchy of those, which have priority over others?

And is there a way to disable the referrals for a single product? do I just put 0%?

So if I have an affiliate that I want to give a 33% commission to and the product is set for 20%. So then the affiliate will get 20%?

The problem is that I want certain affiliates to get different rates for certain products. Affiliate A. gets 33% and Affiliate B gets 20%… as well as excluding certain products from being a part of the affiliate program entirely. How is this achieved?

Listed above missing affiliate’s attribute. This has the highest priority. In your example, the commission will be 33%.
You could create a custom method with your requirements. This documentation, and this example could help you.

Thanks for your response, I just now got the time to really take a look into this custom method link you sent and I honestly have no idea what to do with that. I am not a programmer and I am just managing the site. Is it possible to further explain how would I implement a custom method whereby I can set each product rate separately for each affiliate?

        Example:
        Affiliate 1: Product A (20%), Product B (10%), Product C (10%)
        Affiliate 2: Product A (15%), Product B (15%), Product C (10%)

Something like that. I appreciate the help 🙂

          Hi Adon,

Thanks for clarifying that. An enhancement like the one you propose would really require customized development as the system doesn’t support these assignments per product and per affiliate. It supports rates per product, but the rates apply to all affiliates. We can consider adding this in a future version but I can’t promise on an ETA for such a feature at current. The other option would be to use the custom method as suggested, but it would require the involvement of a developer.

    Hi,
The order of priority is (the highest priority first):
    – Product value
    – Category value
    – Default value
If you set 0 in a product then this product doesn’t generate commissions.
    cheers
