Hi there,

Referrals were working for my site, but then suddenly they stopped. Hits are being registered though. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Antonio,

IT was the iThemes Security plugin causing the issue. However I do like the plugin and would like to solve the conflict between the two, do you have any ideas of why are they incompatible?

      Hi Fran,

I can imagine that it could be solved by adjusting the settings of the iThemes Security (formerly Better WP Security) plugin, but as I’m not familiar with this plugin myself I can’t point you to a specific setting. If it allows to restrict URL parameters, then you should make sure that it allows the affiliates URL parameter to be used. Or maybe the developers could point us to something specific?

      Cheers

    Hi Kento,

    Any updates? Thanks

      Hi Fran,
I can’t see @itthinx’s affiliate :-), I have created an affiliate and seems that there is a conflict with your theme or another plugin, because the cookie is not created.
Please disable all other plugins except essential ones and verify that it works correctly (maybe cache or security plugins cause the problem). Then you can enable other plugins individually to see what is causing the conflict.
      cheers

    Hi Kento,

Please refer to this screen: https://www.dropbox.com/s/0ltfwa8336omd2e/Referrals%20%E2%80%B9%20%E2%80%94%20WordPress.png?dl=0

I tried all combinations and then “Apply” button, there are no referrals.

Moreover, there is no “Test referral”, only “Test” which I created a while ago. Also, there has not been any email notification about a test order.

I think that you might have been in someone’s site that also sent you login info? I forgot to tell you, you might need to attempt to log in twice, because as a security measure it will fail the first time, even with the right password.

My site is herb0l@b (disguised name)

    Hi Kento,

Are you sure you got the right site? I can’t see any affiliate with that name or email in my store, and no referrals at all.

Yes I’m sure, it’s the one you sent access details for. Have you checked your filter settings on the admin screen? If you have any filters set you might be hiding current info.

    Hi Kento,

I registered you as admin, should have the details in your email.

I changed some some software, but I can’t tell when exactly it stopped working so I dont know if any change could have lead to it.

I should mention that the system uses nginx and varnish. Many thanks for your help

Thanks for the access details. Referrals work fine, see the latest rewarded to “Test Affiliate” and user support_itthinx.

    Hi Fran,

Can you please provide a link to the site so we can register a test affiliate account? Or you can set up an account for support at itthinx dot com and please send access details with a link to this topic.

Have you changed anything since they have stopped?
