Sale is allocated to direct, but the registration was with affiliate x

Hi,

I got the Problem, that some sales are allocated to the direct sale, but the user has registered with affiliate x. How can this happen? Can I prevent this?

I still can see the registration of user xyz via affiliate x and when he buys something, the sale was direct. The registration was 6 days ago. Hope you can help finding out the misfunction.

Greetings, Mathias

    Hey Mathias,
How are things going, is everything fine with your install now?
As a quick follow-up, I recommend trying the Affiliates Permanent plugin(found here -> https://www.itthinx.com/plugins/affiliates-permanent/). With this tool the affiliate will be credited with a referral on every purchase made by the customer, is that the functionality you want to have?
The Affiliates Permanent is installed like a normal plugin and then it’s settings can be reviewed under Plugins > Affiliates Permanent. It also enables you to permanently assign a customer to a specific affiliate. Purchases made by existing customers who are not assigned to an affiliate will not credit any affiliate.
There is a useful doc page on that plugin, if you want to take a look-> http://docs.itthinx.com/document/affiliates-permanent/
Let me know if this works for you!
    Cheers,
    Denitsa

    Hello Mathias,

I have a couple of questions for you, so I could clarify the situation a bit and isolate the possible cause of the problem
So, if I’m getting this right, you have a user, xyz, that is a referral to the user x. Then, under Affiliates > Referrals you can see that indeed the registration of xyz is attributed to x?
Also, do you see hits made for the user x under Affiliates > Visists & Refferals, or are they assigned to Direct?
Are you able to see any other purchases made via affiliate x’s affiliate link as his referrals (I mean purchases made by someone other than xyz)?
Do you use WooCommerce? If yes, you’d need to have the Affiliates WooCommerce integration installed through Affiliates > Settings, under Integrations.
What’s the caching mechanism you’re using for your site (if any), e.g do you have a plugin that takes care of that, like W3 Total Cache or is it the Varnish Cache?

    Cheers,
    Denitsa
