tier commission based on splitting OR commission

Hi,

I assume Original Referrer (OR) is always the top affiliate who invites Level referrers.

Based on my understanding of OR, I have to get a commission setting where % received from order to Original referrer needs to be split between OR and levels under them, whomever brought in the sale. We are planning to have only 2 level deep tiers.

Can this be done? If so, how.

here is an example that matches my needs:

– Bill is a Rep — He gets 30% of orders. Bill arranged for Wendy to be an Affiliate. Wendy steers a prospects to place an orders. Wendy gets 10% and Bill gets 20%.

Hope this makes sense, let me know if you have further questions.

Thanks,
-Sudd.

Hi Antonio, thanks for looking into this. At this point I would like to request a refund for the enterprise product.

Until we change our commission rules, we will stick with the Affiliate Pro product.

Please let me know if I need to do anything towards my request for refund.

    Cheers,
    -Sudd.

      Hi Sudd,

Sure, we’ve just processed it. Thanks for asking about the possibility, it’s an interesting case and maybe we can take this into account for future development.

      Cheers

    Hi sudd,
The meaning of OR is correct.
From Affiliates->Tiers you can set if the ‘Level rates are relative’ option, but the original referral is not splitted.
Maybe using the ‘affiliates_process_tiers_referral’ filter you could create a custom solution.
    Kind Regards,
    Antonio B.

      Antonio, thanks for your suggestion.

I was reading document on filter, affiliates_process_tiers_referral, not clear if I can substitute your tier payment calculation with mine. Will it allow me to calculate tier payment or just set level percentage and OR percentage.?

My calculation is simple, if referral is posted in tier level, I will subtract level percentage from OR commission for the level i am calculating for, and assign remainder to the OR. If referral id is not in the tier level, then nothing to do – default calculation takes place.

If I can alter the commission percentage via this filter, then I could do the following, set OR percentage to 66% of total commission and give level 33% of total commission ( for my example case ).

      Please advise.

      Thanks,
      -Sudd.

        Hi Sudd,
I’ve been trying to create a solution for your use case, but there really is not a simple solution.
You need to create a custom solution using the Affiliates API.
        Kind Regards,
        Antonio B.
