Tiers and Referrals

I’m having a difficult time setting up Tiers.

We will only be using Affiliates in association with Coupon Codes and WooCommerce.

Can you provide basic instructions to add “FRED” a Tier 1 Affiliate, and add a second Affiliate “JOHN” a tier 2, who was referred by “FRED.”

Currently, I am experiencing something odd, when I add a new affiliate, that affiliate gets added at a lower depth, consecutively per new affiliate.

Thanks,
Nick

Sorry, I have to post this followup to my previous problem. I got the 2 tier affiliate commission to generate. What I discovered is that when a coupon code is used or added, the affiliate link doesn’t record the sale, just the hits.

So it looks like this plugin cannot be used in conjunction with coupon codes, this is a pretty big problem.

Maybe I am doing something wrong or I dont have something setup properly. Please let me know.

      Hi,
(I assume you are using Woocommerce) Do you have added the “coupon” attribute to the affiliate? When you create a coupon on Woocommerce, you must add this coupon to the affiliate, to associate both.
      cheers

I have done a similar setup but I am running into a problem:

I setup affiliate two under affiliate one as a second tier affiliate (I did it through affiliate one’s link)and the new affiliate was added to the system. However, when I made a purchase through affiliate two’s link, nothing was credited to either affiliate.

It shows the hits, visits and ratio, but no commission has been assigned to either affiliate and each one should have received a percentage. Did I miss a setting somewhere?

I can’t open the parent affiliate link, it just redirects me to the homepage.

for example, i try to launch – http://www.example.com?affiliates=3
i just get redirected back to my homepage.

      Hi,
it’s ok (a cookie is create with affiliate info). Now, with this cookie, if you create the new affiliate John, then John is referred by Fred.
      cheers

    Hi,
if you need that John referred by Fred, John needs use Fred’s affiliate link.
If you want add John manually from backend:
    – you need activate “Always record referrers” in Affiliates->Tiers.
    – Open new tab browser with the ‘parent’ affiliate link (cookies will be created),
    – then you can create the new affiliate in admin tab browser.
    cheers
