Unable to capture affiliate with s2member integration

Posted in

Hi,

I have followed the steps for s2member affiliate integration but unable to capture a new sale for affiliate.

1) I have a url http://www.xxx.com/?affiliate=123
2) Access URL, go to pricing page with Paypal code (on sandbox)
3) Once paypal purchase is completed, sale commision goes to “Direct” instead of affiliate ID “123”.

Here’s the transaction URL that was posted according to the log:

http://www.xxx.sg/wp-content/plugins/affiliates-s2member/request.php?key=xxx&subscr_id=I-74VX6EJSL5TT&txn_id=I-74VX6EJSL5TT&amount=167.00&first_name=dasda&last_name=dsada&full_name=dasda+dsada&payer_email=sdasda%xxx.com.sg&item_number=1&item_name=%24167+SGD+%2F+Monthly+%28recurring+charge%2C+for+ongoing+access%29&user_first_name=dasda&user_last_name=dsada&user_full_name=dasda+dsada&user_email=sdasda%40xxx.com.sg&user_login=qweqweqe&user_ip=xxx.xxx.1.63&user_id=12

I censored some data and the key is indeed the key I got from Affiliate >s2member > Notification key.

Would appreciate some advise. Thanks!

    Hi Kento,

Thanks for the comments. I heeded your advice and went for normal PayPal button instead (from s2member). To smoothen out the flow, I also went for Affiliate Users plugin as you had recommended. When I access the Affiliate URL (http://www.xxx.com/?aid=9) tried to sign up and make payment via PayPal (sandbox) through the new PayPal button, the credit still goes to “Direct” instead of the affiliate. However, when I see from the admin panel, it says that this user is correctly registered as an affiliate.

I find this weird as the affiliate is registered correctly, but the payment is made to “Store” instead of the user. Would appreciate any help on this. I will send you a test login account again for your convenience. Thanks.

    Hi Kento,

I have created a test affiliate with permalink /?aid=4. I went into the website http://www.getstarted.sg/?aid=4 and clicked “purchase plan”, and proceed to register an account and make a PayPal payment (sandbox account). Once the process is completed, the referral is awarded to “Direct”. The test affiliate has 0.00 USD in the account.

I have forwarded the admin email to support at itthinx dot com. Thanks!

      Hi Reeve,

Thanks for the access details, I see that you’re using PayPal Pro buttons and this isn’t supported by the integration. It does support the normal PayPay checkout options though.

      Cheers

    Hi Reeve,

Can you please confirm that you have followed these steps to verify the process:

    1. Create a test affiliate
    2. Visit the test affiliate’s link
    3. Make a purchase (using the same browser and without clearing cookies)
    4. Referral should be credited to the test affiliate

Would you like us to have a look at the admin back end of your site and run a test? If yes, please forward admin access details to support at itthinx dot com and include a link to this topic.
