Update or repurchase?

I purchased a renewal of Enterprise last year in March. Granted I did not go in to renew because I got no reminders. We are two months past my annual contract. My question is do you expect us to have to buy a new product every year just to keep up with the updates year after year? I did not see a product for license renewal or maybe I just missed it.

    Hello,
Thank you for using our product!
You’d need to repeat your purchase, since, as stated in our Terms and Conditions, “each purchased download includes one year of access to downloads, support and updates”. This means that you’re paying for an annual subscription, rather than just buying a certain plugin.
You can read the full text of the Terms and Conditions here -> https://www.itthinx.com/terms-conditions/
    Cheers,

Wow. That is really disappointing. That means that as one of those sad saps whose timing is just off by a couple of months I am going to have to suck it up and reinvest at a higher cost to get the latest UPDATES when the underlying product remains virtually unchanged.

Seems a bit unfair if not unethical. It undermines the notion of value received for price paid. Think about it. I am no longer paying for the software which I now own (GPNU?) I am paying FULL PRICE for the updates to that software. Is that really the image that you want to put out there?

        Hi Warren,

We have offered discounts on this and other products several times now since your last purchase. We still offer them from time to time, although we will maintain our policy on license purchases, access to updates and support, to ensure that we can sustainably maintain the high quality of our tools. You might have noticed that we have introduced huge improvements in the last versions and our pricing model is very fair. We will review your particular case anyhow and follow up on your request shortly.

        Cheers
