I am interested in integrating the woocommerce products plugin with affiliates pro. I would like to know if the end user has to enter a coupon in order for the affiliate to be paid for the sale or is the referral automatically allocated to the affiliate on purchase when using that specific affiliates link?
Also if we would like to apply a discount to a product if a customer is referred by an affiliate – do we need to add the coupon plugin in addition to the product plugin or can the product automatically be discounted if the customer is a referral and not direct.

The default way for your affiliates to refer new customers and sales is through their affiliate link. Apart from the affiliate link an affiliate can refer new customer through a coupon assigned. The coupon assignment can be done manually by editing the affiliate, or automatically with Affiliates Coupons addon.
Whether you choose to give a discount or not doesn’t depend on whether you use Affiliates Coupons. The addon is only responsible for creating coupon codes and assigning them to your affiliates, existing and new.

If you are referring to Affiliates Products, this add-on would allow you to assign a product to an affiliate. Whenever this product is bought the affiliate will get a commission based on the rate set for that product. It’s not necessary for the customer to follow an affiliate link.
Regarding Affiliates Coupons add-on, it will allow you to automatically create coupons for your affiliates and also will automatically assign them as attributes to your affiliates. Each affiliate will have their own coupon(s) and once one of these coupons is used in an order, the respectful affiliate will get a commission.
In general, it would depend on how you are planning to track referrals. If you’re interested in assigning specific products to specific affiliates, then you should use Affiliates Products. On the other if a discount on each referral is a necessity, then you should choose Affiliates Coupons and recommend your affiliates to promote their coupons more actively.

Thanks so much for your response. I just want to make sure I understand correctly and how this will apply to our affiliate program.
• If we do not intend giving a discount to a customer then we would not need the plugin affiliate coupons
• We would just need Affiliates Pro and Woocommerce and the link would be tracked and a commission applied whenever a product is purchased using that affiliates link?
• If we wish to in addition give a discount to the customer of a specific affiliate then we can purchase affiliate coupons plugin which will assign coupons to affiliates etc but this is not necessary to use the Affiliate Pro tracking with woocommerce in general without a discount?
