WordPress Multisite License

Tags

Hi!
Could you please provide some clarification on single domain license terms and multisite WordPress installation.
Should I purchase the separate license for each subdomain within the same WordPress installation?

The purpose I wish to achieve with Affiliates Users plugin: If a visitor of any subdomain within the Network registers on the subdomain’s website through any registration form on this subdomain, this visitor should be registered as an affiliate on this subdomain automatically. I was wondering if there is any type of license I can purchase for all subdomains, so I do not need to purchase it separately for every new site in the Network.

      Hi Anastasiya,

George asked me to have a look at this – from what you explain, I would suggest you try out Affiliates Users to see if the combination actually is fulfilling your requirements. Do you plan on network-activating this so that all sites have the affiliate program automatically installed and run independently? I’m more worried about the whole system fitting your requirements at this point than the licensing itself (we can work something out for you in any case if you need bulk-licensing beyond what’s offered).

      Cheers

Thank you! Yes, affiliate program should run independently for each site in the Network, I’ll test this with Multisite and get back to this discussion.

    You are welcome Anastasiya.

That would depend on how you are planning to setup your installation.
    1) If you are installing WordPress on http://www.example.com then you need a single site license.
    2) If you are setting up a WordPress Network and want to run Affiliates plugin individually on each site of the Network, then you need to obtain a license per site on the Network.
    3) If you are setting up a WordPress Network where on of the sites runs an e-commerce solution along with an affiliate program, then you need a single license of Affiliates Pro or Enterprise and Affiliates MS. When an affiliate refers a visitor to any of the sites in the network and makes a purchase on the target site, then the affiliate gets a referral. For more info on Affiliates MS you can have a look at the documentation page.

How are you planning to setup your installation? Can you give some more info on this?

    Kind regards,
    George

    Thank you for your reply.

Is there any license I can purchase for WordPress multisite site, so all subdomains within a single WordPress installation can activate the plugin?

    Hi Anastasiya,

I’m quoting from the license page:

    – Use on multiple domains, including subdomains, requires you to obtain one
SUSDL for each domain or subdomain you wish to use the SOFTWARE on.

Which means that you need to buy a license even per each domain/subdomain where you plan to run WordPress and our software. If though, you will run a single installation of WordPress and our software on a domain, then you don’t need to buy multisite licenses for the subdomains.

    Kind regards,
    George
