back slash instead of question marks and equal signs

Hi, I haven’t seen any posts on how this example is done. What short code can I use that will make it so users can use there link like this with a /affiliates/username instead of using the quesiton mark and quals signlike this /?affiliates=username . I’d like to be able to do this example for ease on customers http://www.example.com/affiliates/billy

Thank you for your patience with me.

Stan

    Also,
The regular (http://www.purejaya.com?jaya=10) works. But I noticed that the browser automatically puts a “/” after .com (.com/?jaya=10). Is there a way we can add that backslash automatically in the url that is provided for the affiliates?
This is for texting on phones purposes. If there is a backslash then it will send it has a link, if not then it won’t include the ending of the link.

      Hi,
you can use “url” parameter, for example:
      [affiliates_affiliate_link url="http://www.purejaya.com/" /]

ok that will work. I think I like that better. Makes it easier to copy the link on a mobile phone.

I will try to think of a name that would be different than anything on the site, but I don’t trust it just yet cause it seems to work for a time period but then it stops.

That should not happen, maybe it’s a conflict with another plugin.

Yeah it could be. Hopefully it will work soon, but that fix helps a lot! Thanks.

Can you direct me to another thread that talks about how the “generate mass payment file” works? I’ve been searching and can’t find anything yet.

How can I use that file to pay affiliates? Is there a way or program I can use to send the money all at once to everyone? So I don’t have to do it one at a time.

    Hi,

So these links below won’t work anymore… they just go to a “page not found error”

    http://www.purejaya.com/jaya/stanley

I tried this http://www.purejaya.com/jaya/10 and it took me to a product page here http://www.purejaya.com/product/jaya-pure-herbal-cleanse/10/

Do you know why this is happening? Is there a time limit on these links?
I can’t afford mistakes like this in the future

    Thanks

      Hi,
Seems to conflict with the product name, change the affiliate url parameter to another word that does not appear as the root of any product / page / article.

Oh haha my bad, probably should get some sleep now. ha

Thank you it is working now! and thank you for your patience with me.

      I’m glad it works now

  5. purejaya September 11, 2013 at 10:53 am #

That seemed to work, except now it’s not giving me the user name just http://www.purejaya.com/jaya/10

this is what I have tried

    [affiliates_affiliate_url type="pretty"/][affiliates_by_username]

    [affiliates_by_username][affiliates_affiliate_url type="pretty"/]

    [affiliates_by_username][affiliates_affiliate_url type="pretty"/][affiliates_by_username]

      Hi,
      this must work
      [affiliates_by_username][affiliates_affiliate_url type="pretty"][/affiliates_by_username]
You have the “/” wrong 😉

    Hi,
I tried that and it still doesn’t work. It works if I put a ? before the vip (/?vip/stanley). But I bought this hoping I wouldn’t have to have the ? to make a easy for customers to refer others by word of mouth.

    What do you think?

    • antonio September 11, 2013 at 10:11 am #

Please try to change “affiliate URL parameter name” in Affiliates->Options, maybe “vip” causes conflict with any post/page.

  7. purejaya September 11, 2013 at 9:10 am #

    Thank you that works great.

But, here is a test one I did, but when I place the link in a url it says page is broken and page not found. http://www.purejaya.com/vip/stanley

      Hi,
      try selecting “Redirect” in Affiliates->Options

  8. antonio September 11, 2013 at 8:25 am #

    Hi,
    you can use: [affiliates_affiliate_url type="pretty"/]
    Similar in [affiliates_affiliate_link].
    cheers
