Bug with cookie?

Posted in

Hi guys,

our affiliate system isn’t/wasn’t working for a couple of weeks, because the cookie was stored with the SITECOOKIEPATH.
That doesn’t work if the site address is different from the installation address. I changed that to COOKIEPATH and everything works like a charm now, but wiht every update this change is gone again.
Is there a way you could address this with a future update?

Now we’ve got a lot of orders which weren’t attributed to their potential affiliates/referrals. Is there a way to do this recursively with already completed orders? That’ll be great…

Thanks,
Stefan

    Hi Stefan,
Thanks for the suggestion. You can redefine the SITECOOKIEPATH constant in wp-config.php file.
    Kind Regards,

      Hi Antonio,

yes we did that and nobody was able to login anymore so that’s not an option.
And what about the attribution of referrals for already completed orders? I know that it won’t be 100% correct, but we have a pretty good estimate about which orders came from affiliates. Does it make sense to edit these orders or should I try to edit the affiliate meta info instead?

      Thanks,
      Stefan

        Hi Stefan,
maybe you need to clear browser history (cache and sessions) after change the constant.
Relating to the old orders, you could create the referrals manually in Affiliates->Referrals (sorry, there isn’t an automatically option to do it).
        Kind regards,
        Antonio B.
