Import error: not a valid email address

I first exported the users, created a base file, then I eliminated unwanted columns, and tried to TEST import, and got the following error.

Error on line 4, xxx, xxx, xxx, is not a valid email address.

George,
I also emailed you the file I used and detailed error message. Please hep me out. I didn’t know if I am suppose to post here too, so I did both (posting and emailing you).

Thanks in advance for your kind help.

One Response to Import error: not a valid email address

    Hi Sean,

Thanks, I’ve also checked the email you sent and tried a test import.
What you need to do is omit quotes/double quotes and separate each column value by a tab(the tab key on your keyboard). For the columns that have more than one values, ie role, you can separate by comma and space but the important detail is to separate each column value by a tab. When a column doesn’t have a value you should again use a tab for it and then another tab to proceed to the next column.

I’ve edited the import file you sent, the csv one, using one line of data for simplicity. Make sure to run a test import with that file I’ll sent you by email.

In general for your support requests, it’s better to first submit a topic here and if necessary send an additional email if you need to share sensitive files.

    Kind regards,
    George
