Tracking parameters with partner IDs for landing page optimization?

Posted in

Hi,

i got a question regarding the affiliate pro plugin. My partner asked me whether it’s possible to provide links with tracking parameters and the partner ID for specific landing pages. She wants to find out, which product works best on which landingpages.

Is this possible? The tracking parameter needs to be also saved in the cookie.

Thanks in advance
Oliver

    Hi Bernhard,

All you need to do is buy Affiliates Enterprise using the same credentials that you bought Affiliates Pro and you will have an automatic discount on checkout.
After buying Enterprise version, you can deactivate/uninstall Pro version without losing any data. As long as the option to Delete all plugin data on deactivation is not activated under Affiliates > Settings, your data will be kept intact. For your own safety, you can also get regular backups of your site files and database.

    Cheers,
    George

    Hi George,

thank you for you help! So the easiest way to get the landingpage campaign feature is obviously to upgrade to the enterprise version. How can/should i do the upgrade? Is it possible in the wordpress backend and especially without deleting the informations for my current affiliates?

    Regards,
    Oliver

    Hi Bernhard,

At the moment you can use additional parameters in the URL only by customizing the plugin, or by creating a new plugin.

However, if you have a look at Affiliates > Traffic, you can see a detailed list of your referrals statistics including the Source URI and the Landing URI. Also, this list can be filtered by Landing URI so you can see the performance of each landing page separately.

Furthermore, there is the Campaigns feature available in Affiliates Enterprise. With that feature, you can create a campaign per landing page. Each campaign uses its own campaign Id, an additional URL parameter which is also stored in a cookie.
For example the affiliate link for landing page 1 will be : http://www.example.com/landing_page_1?affiliates=2&cmid=1, so all the statistics for that landing page will be recorded in the campaign with id 1, as long as your affiliates promote the link containing the campaign id.
I would also recommend you to have a look at the documentation page about Campaigns and if you have further questions, please ask here.

FYI, each link on your site can become an affiliate link if you append the Affiliates URL parameter to it.

    Kind regards,
    George
