Using Authorize.net through S2Member Pro

If I use Authorize.net and have an item on recurring, how does the subscription work? Will I be notified for every payment monthly like I am with Paypal’s subscription? Thanks.

I will definitely look into WooCommerce as we discussed last time. Thank you!

Can you tell me this, one of the biggest issues I have right now with S2Member is if a customer upgrades, the original referring affiliate isn’t getting commissions recognition and it gets assigned to Direct. This also happens on creating a new subscription. Only when the active subscription stays active and I do an update subscription membership does it stay the same. This doesn’t work for me though because there’s an up front cost and a monthly cost differential to the subscription.

So will WooCommerce fix this issue?

Can I use WooCommerce with S2Member? I use S2member to separate the membership access areas too.

      Hi César,

The only feasible approach I can see right now for you would involve manually reviewing the upgrades and using the search facility try to relate an upgraded customer to the original affiliate by searching for the customer’s name for example in the referrals section. You could probably modify the table that relates subscriptions (I remember we had considered this in a previous conversation) so that the new subscription ID is related to the affiliate. Or it might be an option to use Affiliates Permanent? Did you check if that would work? I think I sent you the plugin so you could test it, if not, please let me know and I’ll be happy to send it over to you.

Regarding WooCommerce, the ideal solution would be based on WooCommerce + WooCommerce Subscription + Groups + Groups for WooCommerce. I’d recommend to first have a look at Groups alone to see its capabilities, the others complement it for WooCommerce with time-limited memberships and subscriptions.

I hope that helps somehow, also please excuse the delay in responding 🙂

    Hi César,

I don’t think it would work with s2member as the integration needs to keep track of the txn_id which isn’t present if Authorize.net is used (s2 notifies the amount but the currency isn’t present). To be honest, if you’re looking to move to recurring payments I would consider WooCommerce instead (I know that would be a big move for your site, but it’s really worth considering).

    Cheers
