Can restricted Topic Titles be made invisible in Widgets?

Hi Kento,

I asked earlier about how to make the forums, topics, and comments of Group2 completely invisible to members of Group1. I have begun using Groups-Restrict-Categories as you suggested.

Access to all PAGES was appropriately restricted. GREAT!!

But the Titles of Topics show up in the Topics and Comments WIDGETS — even if the topic should be invisible (because of access restrictions to either the containing Forum or the specific Topic).

This was true on all 4 of these types of pages: my Front/Blog Page, the Forums Page, a single Forum Page, and a Topic Page:

The only exception to this (I thought this was curious) was on the unrestricted single-forum page. There — in the Topics widget only — the 2 topics in the restricted forum do NOT appear. (Good.) But they do appear in the Comments widget. (Not good.)

I could forward a spread sheet which makes the patterns in my observations more clear.

Is there a way — perhaps by tinkering with the PHP (I’d probably seek some help) or by using shortcodes — that the Topic Titles in widgets might be made invisible to those in other Groups?

Many thanks!
Eliot

Hi Antonio and Kento – As of 10/5 it sounded like you had received a spread sheet and other information from me. I’d love to hear something back. Again, I’m happy to pay for a solution. Many thanks!

The following is perhaps a more succinct statement of what I’m seeking:

Making restricted topics invisible to members of other Groups. Specifically, changing the Recent Topics and Recent Comments WIDGETS to include only lines for topics that are not restricted to the user (ideally via either restrictions on the topic or on the containing Forum).

      Hi Eliot,
sorry for the delay. The Recent Comment should work fine with the custom code.
Relating to Recent Topics, that’s true, We’ll try to solve it in the next update.
      Kind Regards,
      Antonio B.
