Error: invalid captcha.

Posted in

Hi,

I am getting the error ERROR: Invalid Captcha on my form. When I disable the Captcha add-on, I then get the error message that the Captcha is a required field.

I just renewed my license and updated Affiliates Pro but the error message is still there.

How can we solve this issue?

    Hey Donna,

Thanks for sharing additional info on your setup.

What happens here is that the affiliates registration form is using two captcha validation features. The one coming from Affiliates reCAPTCHA and the second one from reCaptcha for WooCommerce.
In order to allow only the Affiliates reCAPTCHA validation to trigger, you need to exclude the affiliates registration form from reCaptcha for WooCommerce validation. In other words, reCaptcha for WooCommerce shouldn’t trigger for the affiliates registration form.
Please have a look at the plugin settings, documentation and support to find out a way on how to exclude this properly. I can see from the plugin documentation that there are options to exclude the validation from certain forms on an installation, perhaps this could help you.
    Reference:
    https://woocommerce.com/document/recaptcha-for-woocommerce/#section-2
My recommendations are limited to this because the plugin in question is a premium plugin, but you should definitely find more hints if you also contact their support.

If further assistance is needed on this matter, please let me know.

    Kind regards,
    George

      Hi George,

Thank you for your reply and suggestions.

I was able to remove the WooCommerce captcha on that login form and now sign ups are able to happen again.

Thank you again for helping me to work through this!

    Hi Donna,

Thanks for sharing your site URL. Even though I’m not aware of your exact setup, it seems that you are most probably using two different Captcha solutions and both of them are trying to validate the affiliates registration form. As for the error message you get, this doesn’t relate to Affiliates or Affiliates reCaptcha addon.
Can you please mention which plugins are you using for captcha-recaptcha validation?

    Kind regards,
    George

These are the activated captcha plugins in use on the website:

      Affiliates reCAPTCHA
      reCaptcha for WooCommerce

Then there this on the site but it is disabled:
      Affiliates Manager Google reCAPTCHA Integration

So the only two active and in use captcha plugins on the site are for the affiliates and for woocommerce.

    Hi Donna,

Many thanks for being a loyal customer of Affiliates Pro.

Can you please mention the form URL where we can see the Captcha validation in action and also the Captcha plugin you are currently using?

The error message you get doesn’t relate to Affiliates plugin but a closer look would shed some more light in your issue.

    Kind regards,
    George
