questions regarding reoccurring commissions

Hi all

I have a website that does wholesale for doctors. What we would like to do is assign a user to one of these doctors. And then when the patient logs in the sale is assigned to that doctor. What I’m struggling with is how can this be done like a standard affiliate program. ie client follows the link, the sale is credited to the right doctor forever.
My dev is telling me that each product can only be assigned to one affliate. I have over 3000 doctors so that is not going to work and it doesn’t seem to be the same as with other affiliate plugins so I’m a little lost and hope you all can help get me going in the right direction.

Many thanks for the offer, with the instructions I’ve outlined a moment ago I think you won’t need any particular paid assistance from us. Please have a look and let us know if you can manage with the instructions provided, we’re certainly here to help you further if needed.

Okay so as my dev team is explaining. That each ‘product’ has to be assigned to an affiliate. That doesn’t seem right to me at all. It should follow the link and what every they buy is assigned to that affiliate regardless. Can you explain this as well. I feel like we are missing something very obvious and im not sure why?

      Hi Beth,

You should not assign particular products to affiliates.

I’ll explain what exactly you should do assuming that new patients will be referred by doctors who have an affiliate account on your site. We will also assume that new patients are referred to your site via the doctors’ affiliate links.

The following also assumes that you have already installed and activated Affiliates Enterprise and set up the commission rates as per http://docs.itthinx.com/document/affiliates-enterprise/rates/

      1. On your site’s dashboard, under Plugins, make sure that you have the Affiliates Permanent extension installed and activated.
      2. Go to Plugins > Affiliates Permanent and enable this option: “Assign new customers to the referring affiliate. WooCommerce is required for this option.” … hit Save.

With this, once a patient has followed a doctor’s affiliate link to your site and placed an order, that and all further orders will be recorded as referred by the doctor, who will be credited with the commission for every order that patient places on your site.

You will find the documentation page for the Affiliates Permanent extension here: http://docs.itthinx.com/document/affiliates-permanent – although I believe that with the above, you should have everything set up as per your requirements.

Please let us know if you need any further indications, we’ll be happy to help you further.

      Cheers

    Hi Beth,

Thanks for using our affiliate tools on your site.

What you’re describing here is a feature supported by Affiliates Permanent plugin, which you already have. Please go to Plugins > Affiliates Permanent and enable the third and -optionally- the fourth option. Whenever a new customer makes a purchase the customer will be assigned permanently to the referring affiliate. For each subsequent referral, regardless of who has referred the existing customer, if there is a permanent affiliate then this affiliate will be credited with a referral.

Please also make sure to check the plugin’s documentation for the full description and use-case scenarios.

Regarding Affiliates Products addon and as you already figured out, this is used for product sponsorships. When a product is assigned to an affiliate then whenever the product is bought the assigned affiliate will get a commission for the sale.

    Kind regards,
    George
