After payment, the user get no subscription

Posted in

1. User choose a Subscription
2. User make checkout
3. Paypal Payment is confirmed and the user comes back from paypal
4. Return Page is displayed correctly
5. But in the backend, the user has no subscription in the subs listing
6. the col processor and the reference is missing

I disabled all Cache/optimizing/WAF Plugins, I switched to a default theme (twenty nineteen) and I get the same result again and again.
I have no clou why that appears. I use this Plugin since a year and I had no problem until last week… But I saw that my subscriptions gone away since sept. I don’t know whats happend…

    Hi Roger,

I think it’s better to have a look at your setup. Please make sure that you have the latest versions installed which for Groups PayPal is 1.3.1 and for Groups Subscriptions is 2.5.0. It would be more flexible for us to have access on a staging copy in order to be able to perform tests using a sandbox PayPal account and check what happens once the payment is completed and why the data is missing from successfully paid subscriptions.

    Kind regards,
    George

      Hi George
      Thank you for the answer…
but my plugins are up to date.

in the meantime I found now another solution.
I’ve been looking for a solution that has a translation anyway.

the debug error.log is empty… and I checked the IPN Url, ist force SSL and if I klick on it, I get a white page. (is a white page ok?)

My Subscription has 3 Packages 1, 2 and 3 years (content restriction, for paid content)
I setup my subs as follows:

Subscription pricing is based on …
    – Setup price : «is empty…»
    – Subscription price: amout of package, e.g. «20.00 »
    – Frequency, every «1»
    – Frequency, every «year»
    – How many times: «is empty…»

How I setup correctly If I want to have a Content restriction for 1 Year?

    Or is better:
    – Setup price : «20.00 »
    – Subscription price: amout of package, e.g. «is empty…»
    – Frequency, every «1»
    – Frequency, every «year»
    – How many times: «is empty…»

What does it mean? will the subs end after the time is expired, without renewal?

    Or is better this one?
    – Setup price : «20.00»
    – Subscription price: amout of package, e.g. «20.00»
    – Frequency, every «1»
    – Frequency, every «year»
    – How many times: «is empty…»

What does it mean? auto renewal is enabled and It doesn’t expire until the customer cannceled it?

witch one is the preferred version?
In the doku I don’t see this case explained

    Hi Roger,

    Thanks for reaching support.

I wonder what happens if you enable WP debugging and try to buy a new subscription. Is there anything logged in debug.log file related to Groups PayPal, Groups Subscriptions or Groups in general?

Based on your description, I would assume that the plugin’s end is not notified for the payment, so double check that the IPN URL is correct, accessible without any warnings when you visit it on your browser and that it is properly set in your PayPal account, even http vs https would make a difference.

Please let me know how this goes.

    Kind regards,
    George
