Can I create a members area for registered affiliates?

Posted in

I want to have an area for affiliates to be able to access customer service, messages, banners etc. I preferably wanted to have it in a sidebar in the affiliate area but anyone can see it when I do it that way. I want them to have to be logged in to see it.

Is there a way to make the affiliate area page seperate from the login page or can I make a members only area?

Thanks.

    Yes Sherrill,

You can edit the notification email under Affiliates>Notifications.

    Cheers

    Hi Sherrill,

    You are welcome.

We have a referral when there is a new sale or new user referred by an affiliate. If you haven’t enabled user registration integration, then your stats will only show just sales.

    Kind regards,
    George

Thank you very much! One final question…

I see that the affiliate gets an automated email after registration. Is there somewhere to edit this email and add my own welcome message also?

Hi. Thanks George. I’m very new to this and it’s my first time using shortcodes.

I am trying to set up the affiliate area. I don’t pay for affiliate referrals yet, just commission on sales of merchandise. So i have not enabled the user registration integration.

When I copy your shortcode for the stats graphs, is the word “referral” pertaining to a sale or user?

I don’t want any user registration stats to appear, just sales.

    Hi Sherrill,

Apart from the default Affiliates Area page, you can always create as many affiliate pages as you like. The only prerequisite/suggestion for that is to keep enclosed the content intended for affiliates like this:
    [affiliates_is_affiliate]
This text is visible to affiliates who are logged in only.
    [/affiliates_is_affiliate].
That way the text above will be only displayed to logged in affiliates.
Basically it is the structure of the default Affiliates Area page. So besides text you can also add affiliates shortcodes.

Although i haven’t tried it myself and if your theme supports pages with columns, you can try putting different shortcodes in each column.

    Kind regards,
    George
