This may seem like a really obvious answer but how do I get my affliates paid? Is there something that is automated where I can have the affiliates send a customer their link, the customer orders the product, and the affiliate gets the 10% commission from the product sent to their paypal? Is this possible?

The affiliate system works like this in general.
The affiliate after registering, can access the Affiliate Area page and get his/her links. The Affiliate Area page can be generated in Affiliates>Settings>Pages. In this page the affiliate can find his/her links to share on the web and bring customers back to the store.
When a customer clicks on an affiliate’s link and makes a purchase, a referral is recorded and a commission is granted to the affiliate.
When the administrator decides to pay the affiliates, he should visit Affiliates>Totals, and export a mass payment file. This file can be imported to PayPal so that all the affiliates can be paid simultaneously. More info on Totals can be found in the documentation.
