I have a paypal payments pro account and I serve customers in areas where paypal is not trusted/common. Therefore, I’d like the option for my customers in the checkout page to NOT have to make a paypal account and simply use their credit/debit card as a “guest”. On the paypal merchant features page, “Accept credit and debit cards (your buyers don’t need a PayPal account)” is shown for both types of merchant accounts. Is there anywhere I can enable this feature in my paypal groups checkout?
You can have a look at the Groups API and especially the Examples provided. If you are familiar with PHP it won’t be difficult to implement it.
Thank you. I have another question regarding the subscription plugin…are there any function calls I can make in PHP to manually subscribe a user? I’d like to implement an alternative method of subscribing users outside of having them go through paypal. Thanks.
You are welcome Natalie 🙂
Your screenshots remind me of older versions of PayPal. I also found this article on PayPal support claiming that account creation is optional for Premier and Business accounts. If you already have a Business account, i would recommend you to contact also PayPal regarding this subject and the interface because by the way it looks, i think you are using an older version.
Also, have a look at this topic on how to change your account type.
I’m not seeing the login options as shown in your screenshot. Upon checkout, users are directed to this (https://ibb.co/iaB3F7) page. After clicking on “Pay with a Debit/Credit card” in the bottom right corner, users are still prompted to create a paypal account (https://ibb.co/cYiuNn). Please let me know if that can be changed, thank you!
This feature is supported by PayPal. Once a customer goes to Checkout, they can either login with PayPal or choose to pay by credit or debit card. You can see the screenshot here from my sandbox checkout page.
