page not found

Hi,

I just encounter another problem. After trying to fix my registration page (which is unsuccessful). I tried to add this WP ecommerce in the settings. I moved some files and the folders based on the instruction. When I try to view my products area, there is no more page to be seen. (PAGE NOT FOUND)… i AM confused now.. what is the use of WP ecommerce? Is this in conflict with woocommerce?

We havent started it yet with our affiliate networking marketing because of the many issues we have encountered.

these are

1. No affiliate links show in the user..
2. No earnings shown (though it went through subscription)

Another question?

How will the earnings be credited? Does one need to use his affiliate url (ONLY)? or they will go to a product page, then, generate the affiliate link of their own.?
Because the url only gets credited when it is on the right page.. but after redirecting, it will have no effect.

For example: (This was my experiment before)
I have this home page where a button is displayed (JOIN US). My friend use his aff url then he was redirected to this homepage. Now, when his referral clicks on the JOIN US button, the referral will redirect again to the REGISTRATION PAGE where a button is displayed (REGISTER). When they register, they are now in the aff members area waiting for approval.

– The problem with this is, I have so two redirect page which I think is the problem why the referral did not appear in my friends aff profile-

I did another experiment. I change the home page setting and have only one redirect. When the referral go to the home page using the affiliate url, they will click immediately the register button and now is registered. Doing this enables the referrer to credit the referral.

My question is that, is this the proper way to get credited with referral or buying any products from our shop? only direct link referral? Notice that the aff url is for referral and the product url is different. So, one needs to generate the product url using their aff url, right?

I just want to be clarified on this issues.

Apology for this mixed questions.

Again, going back, when I tried to generate this product url to promote using my affiliate url, the page tells me “PAGE NOT FOUND” ..because I did something on WP ecommerce.

Hope you can help me with this.

Thanks

Lloyd

    Hi Lloyd,

When a guest registers through your Affiliate Area page, becomes an affiliate. What happens if your newly-registered affiliate logs in your Affiliate Area page? The generated Affiliate Area page contains the basic info for an affiliate, ie the affiliate link. If someone makes a purchase on your eshop after following an affiliate link, the affiliate will be credited with a referral. In order for this referral to be recorded, you have to install the proper integration as well. For example, if you are running WooCommerce, then you should install Affiliates WooCommerce Integration in your Dashboard go to Affiliates > Settings under Integrations tab. Further information on Affiliates WooCommerce Integration can be found in the plugin settings after activating and in the documentation page here.

Regarding WP ecommerce, i’m not sure if WP ecommerce can work alongside with WooCommerce without problems. But if you are not running WP ecommerce, there is no reason to install anything related to WP ecommerce.

Regarding your tests, once you follow an affiliate link, check your browser cookies if the wp_affiliates cookie is stored and has a value equal to the affiliate id you used. For as long as the cookie is stored, the affiliate will be credited with a referral after a visitor/customer makes a purchase.

Please let me know once you try my suggestions.

    Kind regards,
    George
