Plugin Format

Now having crossed my 10th affiliate pro related plugin installation I had a question…i spent 3 hours reading all your forums and discovered most of the plugins were available but in modular format. Have you considered merging them all to one plugin with the ability to turn on/off what you want? Would be MUCH easier from a user perspective

    Hi Kelly,

That’s a great suggestion. We’re working on creating an API that intends to make it easier to handle the integrations. The difficulty here is that each system has its own triggers (when an order comes through, updating the order status, coupons, …) and thus we have different integrations that hook into the workings of each system. What I’d love to see (and it’s part of the design principles for the next generation of the Affiliates plugins), is that we provide a generic interface that offers all capabilities, while the integrations understand how to talk to both ends. It should be something that offers all features from the Affiliates’ plugins end, leaving it open to the integrations to take advantage of what it offers and depending on the capabilities of the e-commerce solution.

I’d love to hear more comments on that, not only from users but also from fellow developers. I’ll leave this topic open for those who want to comment. What we’re talking about is part of the Affiliates 3 version(s).
