first of all, congratulations for the amount and quality of your plugins.
We’re using Affiliates Pro and it looks solid, thank you!
Before I go ahead and buy Affiliates Permanent and Affiliate users, I wanted to make sure
that they can fit in our site workflow.
We’re setting up a system where a signed up member (Tom) will become an Affiliate User
so he can refer his friend Chris and receive an 8% commission on the first purchase.
Next step we want to achieve is that if/when the Chris comes back and buys something else,
Tom will get 4%. This seems doable using Affiliates Permanent. Is my assumption correct?
Next question: being Chris an affiliate user he’ll be able to get 8% commission on his first sale
and 4% thereon from. In this specific case, let’s call it 3rd tier, is Tom receiving anything?

Sorry to repetitive, but we have now realised that we made a mistake when buying Affiliates Pro.
Is there a way we can get a refund or swap the Pro version for the Enterprise paying the difference?
I understand you make a living out plugin dev but we don’t actually need two plugins, one of which we’ll not be using at all…

Sure, you can use the coupon code pro2enterprise to pay the difference, simply add the Enterprise version to the cart and use the coupon code at checkout.

Affiliates Permanent question: thank you, we’ll go that way. As per implementation, I will need help.
2nd question: We purchased Affiliates Pro thinking it would have solved our problems, however it looks like we need the real swiss army knife type plugin, Affiliates Enterprise. We’d like to upgrade the plugin paying the difference if that’s doable, thank you.

Regarding your first question, there are two aspects to take into account:
1. The referring affiliate gets a commission on any further purchase, that is what Affiliates Permanent does, so this part is covered.
2. The first purchase grants a different commission rate than subsequent purchases. This is not covered by Affiliates Permanent but we can use a custom method to make it possible. A similar solution is presented here Affiliates Custom Method Minimum Rates – this can be adapted to use a rate based on the number of purchases. Please let me know if you’re familiar with implementing that or if you need help.
On the second question, you would need to use Affiliates Enterprise which supports tiers.
